which one do you like more for offroading? your 80 series or gx? i ask this question because i would like to buy a land cruiser 105 (like 80 series gasoline and manual) or gx460. They cost almost the same in my country. I live in Mongolia. Thank you very much

Oh I think the better off-roader overall is the 80 series for sure. A 105 is an amazing Land Cruiser. The GX has its advantages like modern amenities in the interior, and a nice powerful v8, but the 80 series is the more rugged between the 2.

I think this is a great idea. I really want one. But I don’t think it’s a reasonable price point. If you are going to spend over $1000 why not buy a full bumper. This is just essentially a swing out not providing extra protection so I would think you should spend $1000 on a protected bumper vs this just provides a swing out. I was looking for something like this and really considering it but I just don’t agree with the 1k price point. I love the videos though, I am going to subscribe.

Looks like a good competitor to Cascadia 4x4 and their solar pannels. Since it's been a few months since the video, how's it holding up? Has there been any updates to the app? What was the experience with customer service when you needed the replacement? I got a jackery recently so looking for ways to keep it topped off when on trips while powering my 12v fridge. Prices of the lensun is reasonable too so hopefully would be a good buy. I've heard not so great things on cascadia so fingers crossed lol

Great questions. This video is actually a follow up video to my original installation video. So I had that original panel for almost a year before the making of this one. Customer service is pretty good. All through email, I had never tried calling them. No updates to the app though. The app is my biggest gripe with this product. I mean the app works, but it can be sooooo much better. The new panel has been holding up great. No bubbling or discoloration like the first panel they sent me out. Like I said in the video, they had told me it was a QC issue they had and resolved. I have the exact plan for my jackery. Will use the panel to keep it topped off for my fridge.

A bluetti power station yes. You just have to use the correct cables going into the power station. I will be running a jackery 1500 off of mine. In essence, a dual battery system, but no source coming off the alternator to the jackery. Just the solar.

Great video, thanks for sharing! I'm doing this same project right now - couple of things: 1) follow torque specs on gas connection lines (along w/new crush washers, as you said) 2) test everything out before re-installing rear driveshaft 3) you really should replace that sock filter on your fuel pump 4) You really should replace all the gaskets and hoses while you are in there - rubber parts have a shelf life and these are old trucks.

I bought a 92 that has been sitting for over a year. Starts on starter fluid and runs well until you stop spraying the starter fluid. I'm replacing the fuel pump, but I'm going to clean the gunk out of the tank, lines, and injectors first. Haynes manual doesn't say anything about disconnecting the drive shaft, but the tank is definitely hung up on it.

@CruisinMiles

It definitely could have been done. But upon reading up on other people’s experiences, it was hit or miss. For some it worked. For some it didn’t. It all came down to how it sets. If you can really clean the area and give it ample time to cure. But I preferred to have one that had no holes in it so I didn’t have to worry about out the JB weld failing.
