That wasn't the factor that led to the Jaguars being chosen. The Wolves and Jade Falcons had just fought the Refusal War and were considered weak at that point. The coalition decided it needed to fight a strong opponent or they wouldn't be taken seriously. The Ghost Bears had switched their stance from Crusaders to Wardens so they were off the table since it was the Crusaders pushing for a renewed invasion & the Nova Cats were considered a non factor. That left the Smoke Jaguars by default; a strong Crusader Clan.

Aside from the Word of Blake as an independent faction not existing yet, unless i minsunderstood your point in which case sozz, i get what you're saying. I would give them some slight forgiveness for not expecting the Dragoons to be on Luthien because of the Death to Mercenaries thang but at the same time they should have been more sus about their being nearby for sure.

@@Martagasm They're not clan warriors. If a guy gets left behind he'd be considered a bondsman or dead (and better dead so his genes could live on). The Jags were notoriously vicious like that. There is no going back for a rescue unless you're some filthy surrat freebirth scum like the innies. Emo girl DOES have standing, unless calling her a mechwarrior is supposed to be ironic. The duel would not be on the flight line as that is a busy place where a fight would jeopardize rearm/refit procedure. They would take it to the gym on ship or draw a circle in the dirt ground side. There would be additional punishment for the loser girl. Med techs would've already be there and taken custody of injured bro. And this is only from this one cut scene.

The thing is according to the lore Wolf Dragoons had a few bloodnamed warriors among their initial ranks (even from other clans though those were "outcasts". Though I think most of them died in their decades of service. But from the Wolves trueborns only Natasha returned. And most wolves thought she would simply fail her retrial. Which just goes to show that the Clans don't value battle experience from their warriors once they reach a certain age and have no success on their records

not a bad shout to be fair. this was my first, and admittedly very janky, attempt at getting the cutscenes for a game uploaded to my channel but i will deffo look to add the in game scenes to my channel at some point hopefully soon!

@Martagasm Game is abandonware, and you would have to do some sorcery to get it running on a modern computer. There are plenty of guides on how to run it around here, I'm sure. One of the first games I played.

@@Martagasm yes, to a certain extent, but at the same time they also believe that every individual within the Clan (caveat: as long as they're productive - even if that means they're old and decrepit and only good for wiping off both ends of a SibKid) has a place within the Clan and a role to play. Their Eugenics program focused on selective breeding, but it was never about mass genocide. Even when the Jaguars glassed Turtle Bay with an orbital bombardment, it was about punishing the populace for assisting in Hohiro's escape and the open rebellion that had erupted.

@@spireland5 first off yuichi is a bondsman .. he may not exactly care, he just wants to find his place he fits into Naomi as she says herself was pretty much screwed over by her former star commander and close to becoming solama and that aside from her also having a more critical view on things soooo yea it does make enough sense when two of the team don't exactly have to lose much and the other two just simply agreeing how horrible smoke jaguar is even Mia agreed to that but was simply too proud and loyal to abandon the clan and Liam? i dare say he already got frustrated not only how smoke jaguar is treating him because of his namesake but also how rather incompetent the clan was regarding its intelligence arm, he also didn't exactly show pride and loyalty to the clan and acted very independent ... afterall it was him who initiated contact to the wolf dragoons
