@@alexgrant311 what other key lights have these features at this price point?
@alexgrant311
@alexgrant311 Ай бұрын
@scott_stevenson I don't necessarily think the features are that important. They are a nice to have. It would be cool to see the brand maybe package 2 or 3 of these together in a mini carrying case in order to make a mini kit. $600 for a low powered niche light is a lot when similar results can be achieved with other resources. I really like it but the price point seems like it should be cheaper for what you're actually getting.
@scott_stevenson
@scott_stevenson Ай бұрын
@@alexgrant311 for you the features might not be important but for a professional Gaffer working on large production they are essential in 2024. $600 is very affordable. Output is not the most important factor in a lighting fixture. If you invest in quality gear it will last through many jobs and you will get a return on your investment. If you buy cheap stuff it will break then you need to continually buy new lights because they get water damage out in the rain or the cables connections are cheap and get pulled out and damaged. Buy once Cry once.

Everyone who sees it instantly recognizes that this is the way it should have always been. Quick note on battery power for the STORM 80c: in addition to using a D-Tap cable to connect a v-mount battery, you can also use a 100w USB-C power bank to run the 80c. @@Cinegavo USB-C is a 5v standard, so you need to look for one that has a 20amp output (5*20=100). If it’s labeled in milliamperes that’s 20,000ma. Don’t be confused by capacity, which is the total amount the battery can hold. You need to see how much it can output at any time.
