Great perspective. I seen Semion video first. As a gaffer and DP I can definitely relate. It's so slow and it's hard to say no. Sometimes it's just not worth it.

@@juliustubbsDP totally it’s good to practice and keep skills sharp. So okay to go for low rates but some productions take advantage.

@scott_stevenson they sure are taking advantage this year.

Good points. Personally I never work with "nervous money" (i.e. penny pinching productions). Also, being asked to come on last minute signals that they didn't plan ahead or burned bridges. Neither of which is good to work around.

Exactly it's never a good situation to be in.

I'm discussions for a doc. The rate for gear and DP were way too low. I could use the money but will it be worth it? I can't even imagine what they will offer sound, b cam op and a grip.

@@pchuck1439 yeah sometimes it’s better to make it difficult for productions not willing to pay industry standard rates… We all need to make a living but not worth making the crew suffer.

Literally disgusting to see that kind of PoS producer do that to a guy that already said yes to 1500$

@@scott_stevenson I have produced with Budgets before and IDK for me I would never do that to someone who signed on for such a low rate. to try and find someone to undercut them.
