there will be never enough words to describe how deeply i care for FFXIV, thanks to everyone for creating and participating in this Video! right now, i've haven't been very active in FFXIV because of a personal situation i'm in, but i really miss FFXIV. it feels like i'm homesick, like i'm missing my true home. i just feel so connected to everyone and everything in this fictional world. I wish i could personally thank Naoki Yoshida, Soken and their whole Team for this Masterpiece of Gaming History!

That modulation on the final verse, coupled with the layered vocals and the absolutely TRIUMPHANT tone never fail to give me goosebumps. You can definitely see Soken's own triumphant feelings in seeing a decade of passion and hard work coming full circle!

@12:30 Spoiler alert: they DID show this level of attention to every freaking track in this game! You are spot on in your articulation of how genius the blending of these tracks was to communicate the plethora of emotions it's meant to communicate. The same situation occurred over and over and OVER again throughout the game. Every character theme has a happy version, a melancholy version, a battle version, a triumphant version. They'll weave Cait Sith's theme into the Nibelheim theme - two tracks that have NO business being mashed up - when he comes to the forefront for a brief moment during that arc. They'll layer in the Shinra theme or Hojo's music or Jenova's when the story is about to take a turn in those directions, adding audio cue's in advance to build anticipation. And it's all so freaking seamless! This is, I think, the greatest game soundtrack I've ever heard hands down.

I do understand your argument about context with WIldfire, but my experience with that song was different. I'm a Genshin player as well and I still regularly play both games. At the time I was still more or less halfway through the Space Station arc when Wildfire appeared on my youtube home. From my Genshin experience I know that Hoyo-mix never disappoints, and when I play I kinda focus on playing and enjoying the music, and only at a later time I check the songs and their names. When I saw that song on my yt home, though, I was curious and I thought "well, let's check what Hoyo is cooking, maybe I already listened to it). And i was BLOWN AWAY. Right from the first notes (wrapped in biting wind, hearts will never bleed, frozen and banished, out of grief) I had the hair on my arms stand up. Then, I eventually reached Jarilo-VI ending and witnessed how they delivered the song into the game, and I was blown away squared. So in my case, the song came before the context, and at least 70% of the music played in my Express is that one song (I sometimes revert to Take the Journey for its cozy and relaxed vibe).

I know this was a year ago, but the singer in scaramouche's themes is actually Yu Peng Chen himself! his vocals are amazing!

9 days left to play NieR Reincarnation before end of service, and many of our questions about how it relates to the NieR series are answered while also posing new questions. It's been a wild ride and I am going to miss this game and its music. I hope SE doesn't give up on it and publishes an OST for the final arc. Some gorgeous tunes were added at the end.

This song has resonated with me even more the past year since I lost my mother. It reminds me that I have to keep pushing ahead not just for myself, but for her and those around me.
