I Wrote Music for a Konami Game

Thank you all for the kind words everyone, it really means a lot to me! 🙏🏾 Re-arranging music for a remake of a game that plenty of people grew up playing is a big responsibility, and one that I don't take lightly. While working on this, I spent some time reading comments and stories of OG Contra fans to make sure to include some of the things that they loved most, so I'm really glad that you guys like the track! The track's name is "Rising Tide", you can stream it on Spotify here: open.spotify.com/track/3rzq6JS61YSXmbRhFKvg3B?si=391d3017a268454e I think it's also available on other digital stores, and it's also unclockable within the game as an alternative soundtrack for the Waterfall Stage in Contra: Operation Galuga. This is the only theme I worked on for this game, but there's also a whole bunch of cool remixes from other awesome people you may know in it. Hope you'll have fun playing the game and vibing to the music while you play!

Brother, I've been listening to this track non-stop for the past week while I do gamedev work. Love it. Have you ever had these moments though where, when you listen to a track often enough, there are parts that sort stand out and your brain registers these weird things? I swear at around 40 seconds into the track, there's a modulated voice that sounds like it says "Bitch" and I cannot unhear it every single loop hahaha

@@mewberthildimew9037 I do think the best tracks are those where you keep noticing more layer the more you listen to them. So, glad to hear that! The vocal in that bit says "Bass", as a way to announce the acid 303 bassline that follows :P

Original Contra was THE first game I've ever played in my life. I remember I was 7 or 8 years old, being very bad at the game, always asking my father to join me to play session of Contra because I wasn't skilled enough to beat it alone 😅 Thank you, Alex, for your new version of waterfall theme and for bringing back these memories to me ❤
