What a fabulous companion piece to New York State of Mind. Saw him in Boston last fall ('23) and finally got to NYC Spring ('24). From Halifax, Nova Scotia.

As a 23-year-old lover of classic rock, the past year has been such a treat. We got the Beatles' Now and Then in November, and we got this gem in February. What a wonderful surprise this was as a comeback song. Even if this is just a one-off and he's not going to be releasing any more new music, this was such a beautiful gift to us from Billy. Thank you, Piano Man, for the wonderful music you've blessed us with.

Billy botched the lyric, and then there's the subtle yet funny maneuver of that Italian bread loaf by the drummer, the other guy not wanting to hold it.....[2:05 "engineer boots...leather jacket and cheap bluebablbleans (pair of cleats?)]...." Almost sorta DIDN'T even drop a dime in the box for a song about New Orleans.... lol

I saw this band the day before 52nd Street was released, what a great band, Liberty DeVitto one of the greatest of all time, Richie Canata received multiple standing ovations, why would Billy lose such great talent? I don't get it.

I love the fact that the video starts with "Famous Last Words" in the book, and he turns to a blank page. Let's hope the rest of those pages are eventually filled in.

One of my old grey haired Dad's (As he called himself to me) favourites (RIP). I come back to it once in a blue moon and it still surprises me how intricate it all is. My Dad was a decent musician and got the keys down to a good level. It takes something else to come up with this piece in the first place. Respect, Billy!
