Brother, I have an HP notebook, when I press the power button, the power button lights up, but the screen turns off without turning on, what is the problem?
@ITSolveRepairs17 күн бұрын
If you get a capslock key responding on press, it usually means the system booted, but you have a screen issue. If there is no response from it, probably the board is the issue.

Hi there, thank you so much for your video, it was very informative. I have a Yoga 7i that I bought at launch, which was quite expensive living in Brazil, and the hinge broke in less than 8 months of use. It was a huge disappointment, as I wasn't aware of the bad reputation of the Yoga line. I've already bought some Torx screwdriver kits, but none of them were the right size. Could you give me a tip on what size screwdriver I need to disassemble it? Much appreciated.
@ITSolveRepairsАй бұрын
Hey, sorry to hear that. Pretty much all 360* rotating laptops have this fault, not only yoga's. Screwdrivers you need are Torx5 for the bottom cover Phillips0 for all the rest of the screws. Make sure you heat well the back cover or find and pull the adhesive straps below the screen to avoid shattering it. Otherwise, it will be an expensive fix. They are very delicate!

Good afternoon from Madrid. I would like to ask you a question, if you don't mind: On my Lenovo Yoga 710 -14ikb laptop, some cracks have appeared on the screen, which I don't know if they were due to me dropping it on the floor. The fact is that I'm going to have to change it. I would like to know which part I should buy because the touch system still works and the screen is also visible, even though it has those little scratches. Thank you so much.
@ITSolveRepairsАй бұрын
Hi, it will be almost impossible to guess the right screen part number without taking it out and confirming the part number on the sticker located behind the screen. So take out the lcd panel and look for a part number. Unfortunately, the same model laptop might come with a couple of different screens, which might not be crossed compatible. G.

Most likely, wasn't the password reset killing it. You need to get to (or find somebody who can) find the root cause of the failure if you want it to last and be a reliable device. Can be liquid, oxidation, failing ssd, etc.

After replacing what is the battery life of hours on heavy and light task and also what’s the cycle count?
@ITSolveRepairs3 ай бұрын
Cycle count is always zero on a new and good quality battery Battery running life depends on multiple factors, such as the OS version and how many apps are running in parallel. In general, you should get 4-6hrs on Intel systems and 8-10hrs on Apple Silicon

@Devnull015 ай бұрын
Well it took me 4.5 hours and I'm sure 1 of the rivets isn't doing anything but i've managed to sort it. Had to take out the mobo to get the screen off but cleaned the hinges and also loosened them off (too much and had to drill the rivets out three times to adjust) and now it's all back together and working. I can't even thing of a way to explain how tight the hinges were but my hands are really sore today from just working the cleaning fluid through it. I thought i noticed that one of the cylindrical gears was not moving on each hinge till i really really worked i free. They weren't even dirty - it was like the lubricant they had used had spoiled and acted like a glue. Slight crack on the glass of the screen from when the hinge broke but it all works inc the touch screen. I riveted from the other side in the video so when I pulled he rivet end off the flush pretty bit was on the screen side. Only lost 1 screw (one of the battery) ones so that's a good result for me doing these things. Thanks very much for making the video!

Simple, disconnect the screen and will route through HDMI or USBc ports. For USBc, grab yourself a USBc to HDMI adapter. Best remove the screen from the base. If not, flip 360* after disconnecting it from the board. Just make sure to service regularly as these laptops die from heat. it-solve.au/about/itsolve-repairs-system-service/#yt

Excellent video, I have repaired many hinges over the years, sometimes the broken hinge mounting is caused by an impact. A lot of the repairs that I see are caused by the hinge being too tight. All of my repairs I do with a very strong epoxy glue, as long as you release the tightness on the hinge by turning the adjusting nut at the end of each hinge it shoudnt break again. I have just finished the r/h hinge repair on this exact same model, obviously a weakness on this particular Lenovo model.

My daughters yoga 7i has just had this happen as well. She's treat it like a priceless piece of art and it's still broken. Really really annoyed as Lenovo inherited me as an ibm customer (literally bought only thinkpads, think centres etc) so $1k spent on a Lenovo laptop for her Christmas seemed like a safe choice. They won't care but it has made me decide to stop buying lenovo and that includes the ThinkPads i procure for our company.

Lenovo now a 100% obsolescence driven as they shifted out hp and now dell from the corporate market with their ridiculous low price, hence disposable build quality. They are teaching schools and corporates to churn their fleet every 2 years. My sons school are replacing about thousand lenovos every 2 years as part of their lenovo contract. The waste is mind-blowing. 🤢

Thanks! Screen removal was not needed for me luckily for Yoga 7-14ITL5. I used rivets of 2.4 mm and drilled holes of 2.5mm. Also I just let the rivets brake on pulling instead of what you did with cutting them away. Much easier. This way I fixed the broken hinge for about 12 euro, which was the cost of a rivet set including rivets. It feels really sturdy now. Awesome fix.
