Great video. How do you know what size paper for example drawing calls for 1/8=1’ but measurement’s will be different per different paper size?
@TrainingHandsAcademy13 сағат бұрын
Hello. It has to be printed to scale on different paper sizes unless you are using graph paper with specific scales already on it.

what is a good material to use if you dont want to paint them if you want to keep it a natural wood?
@TrainingHandsAcademy3 күн бұрын
Almost any wood type would work... depends on the color of "natural" you are going for.

Great video but after you have done every to possibly get the saw as accurate as possible what's keeping the blade from making the mistake as you said the dewalt has the bigger blades that tend to wable. So if the blade has wabble won't it effect the accuracy of the cut? If it does what can you do to minimize the effect??
@TrainingHandsAcademy3 күн бұрын
Hello. You might notice more flexing with certain cuts, but unless you're using a really cheap blade, that shouldn't be an issue.

What is a theoretical ridge height? Where did that come from?
@TrainingHandsAcademy4 күн бұрын
Great question. The theoretical ridge height refers to the height of the ridge (the highest point of a roof) calculated mathematically, based on the roof's pitch and span. Please be sure to watch my other rafter videos to learn more about that.
@loripetrie77674 күн бұрын
you roof beam should be at the bottom of rafter. you have taken a 2x6 and turned it in to a 2x4. the bottom of the rafter is not supported at the ridge

When you sand your face frame, do you put a subtle round over on the edges with your sander? It looks like those boards were very squared off, but the finished face frame looked "softer".

I have done woodworking for years. In the last year I found an old router What a game changer! Love experimenting on off cuts it's a Stanley 267 from the 60s made in England, built like a tank ,but I would prefer a lighter one that can plunge to be honest but still a lot of fun ,my old 267 makes a lot of mess , how would you use a extractor with it ?
@TrainingHandsAcademy8 күн бұрын
Wow, I’d love to see and use that router! Finding an extractor might be tricky. The best approach would be to research which current router extractor kits could work. They do sell aftermarket kits for most newer routers, so you might be able to find one that fits-or possibly modify it to make it work.

This was super helpful! I have a front door that is angled a bit (tight on top, more gap in the bottom) how do you propose I get that fixed?
@TrainingHandsAcademy9 күн бұрын
Great question! To fix this, remove one of the top screws in the upper hinge and replace it with a longer 3" screw. This will pull the hinge closer, widening the gap at the top.
