Can't wait to see what you do with it. That has been my truck saw this winter. Slight muffler mod (mines an open can) and new carb (I need to check the venturi). It sure won't win any races stock. But, if sharp, gets the job done, if a little slow. I don't think I'll port mine, even if you get really good results ... but you never know. I don't think I'd pay more than 30 or 40 bucks for one, so if someone steals it from the back of my truck, I don't care much. But, I've cut small loads in winter every once in a while with it, and it puts wood on the truck. Good luck! I'll stay tuned to see what you do to it.

I fully understand what u were working with. I ran my shop with an extension cord for 2yrs. Then I direct buried 10/3 UF cable so I could do the exact same thing u have done. It has made everything much better than before cause I don’t trip any breakers anymore. Good job and good luck on all your future projects.

It definitely helps out so much having actual power out here. But hey, the extention cord carried us for years 👍🏻

you should jump up to 20 amp breakers with #12 romex......#14 gauge wire is for 15 amp breakers
@dubbssawshop
@dubbssawshop 2 күн бұрын
I agree. 20A is the maximum safe overcurrent for 12ga wire. I went with 15A to keep it on the lower side, the whole shop ran off a 15A for years, I figure 3 separate 15A circuits will be plenty. If the compressor circuit still trips the 15, I'll step that one up a 20. Kind of a built in buffer I guess.

@dubbssawshop thanks for getting back. I have a ms290 that I want to run a 24" bar on and from what I understand, the 56cc's is just under powered for it. I looked into a base gasket delete but was told this clamshell design doesn't have a base gasket. I did a bit of a muffler mod, so maybe someday I will do the 390 upgrade.

I will say it is becoming a solid dang saw and has came a long way. If it was just for work, I'd honestly stop here, because it's a beast. The OEM carb was the absolute best thing I have done, with the unlimited coil a close 2nd, and those mods totally changed my mind about this saw. 👍🏻

That’s the best thing you can do to a 562 xp muffler mod the saw will run cooler a lot more responsive more power it will improve the longevity of your saw heat is what kills a chainsaw. I did the same with my 550xp mark 2 and my 562 & 572 I’ve noticed a big improvement.
