It's definitely running way better than it was! I think you will turn this into an awesome saw once you're done. Good work!

Dam no rpm drop at all!!!She is a killler. Funny to see a massive saw like this with a short bar lol Awesome JOB Brother.

@@scottfoster2487 that's a 28" pulling new c83 with a 8 pin. Amazing the saw is so big the 28 looks little 😆 🤣 was gonna use the 36" but the chain is a link short for the 8, so I'll drop it to the 7 and give it a whirl.

On my 8120, I had issues with the gasket between the intake port and intake block. I ended up putting a skim coat of gasket sealer on it.

That metering side trench mod is a good idea. I'll have to store that idea away to try on future tuning issues.

@@jamiewykes8585 yes it is. It's a mods that can help, but really not hurt. 👍🏻

Sounds like to me it's running in a rpm were it isn't designed for, ports are tiny inside is my guess why it is why it is

Dubb Donny Walker put out a video a year ago maybe the 3120 he was working on had an air leak , on the clutch side the hole in the crankshaft for grease actually goes completely into the crankcase he found it by mistake so check that out , cus I have a 3120 that was blown up and after I put a small fortune in the saw it still had an air leak and when I seen Donny's video I took a small long piece of wire and it went into the crankcase
@dubbssawshop6 күн бұрын
I have it pulled down now, so I will check that out. I seen the hole there, most of the ones I've seen have been on a concrete saw and have a 1 way check valve pressed in the web of the crank to prevent that air leak but still allow the drum bearing to get lubrication. It works, but is not needed on the chainsaw.

What is the pop of pressure?
@dubbssawshop7 күн бұрын
I'll have to go check it. Haven't done anything with the pop off yet. Usually I like a little lighter pop off pressure, works great till summertime where a select few like to build pressure and dump it in the cylinder while sitting in the heat.

You might block off the hole that the oem carb don’t have with that being said I don’t know the circuitry and that carb.
