Gyffes, your way of designing is truly spectacular. Before I start building in Cities: Skylines 2, I always play your videos on loop to keep me company while I create. I follow several Cities: Skylines KZbinrs with thousands of subscribers, and without a doubt, I can say you are the best of them all. The way you bring these mountains to life and the care you put into every detail is unmatched. Thank you for sharing this with us. Saludos desde España.

No idea what made me think of it, but do you think you could fit a small outdoor karting track somewhere? Maybe at a forest vacation park with log cabins and tennis courts and stuff?
@Gyffes-6787 күн бұрын
That's a fun idea. I can think of two possible locations where that might fit in. It might be a while before I start building in either of them though. I'm kind of waiting for the rest of the building packs to drop before I start some sections. I'll keep it on the back burner for the moment.

My little lakeside community is in need of a name. If you have any suggestions let me know below.
@JohannHitz6 күн бұрын
I can’t remember if the lake had a name but if the town isn’t named after the lake I think it would be a perfect town to have named after its founder. A cool story of some settler who did something important to bring lots of people out. For example a guy that started a party who built the reservoir which invited many people to come and farm or someone started a small company that may not be around anymore but it brought up this community.
@Gyffes-6786 күн бұрын
This gives me a few ideas, Thanks!
@Rrream6 күн бұрын
This is a truly beautiful community you have going! In a lot of rural areas like this, these places are named after the native name of the land, or a native chief. Other more recent ones include names like Jamestown, Gearhart, Blaine Point, or my favorite, Polebridge. Then again, a lot of these names just explain what the land is like; Clearwater, Whitefish, Flattened Peak, etc. Love your work!

As someone from Chicago metro an idea is Round Lake Beach, Lake Barrington, Lake Zurich, Fox Lake or Crystal Lake, hopefully you use on of my ideas! Love the videos btw 😅🎉

Looks really really nice, if u can give u a suggestion tho, if ur doing those Surfaces its best to disable all the snapping options (exept the Square one to connect to other nodes) works a ton better and doesnt look so pointy bc of the 90 snapping

You can make over taking lanes work if you set them up right. The extra lane needs to be on the inside and open at the start, then the outside lane closes at the end. So you kind of shift the centre across with the new lane. This is what they look like in the real world, and it makes traffic work correctly in the game. I've used it a lot with a windy mountain road, to deal with the road work trucks.
@Gyffes-67819 күн бұрын
And that makes much more sense than what I was doing. Thanks for the feedback!
@MorganHJackson19 күн бұрын
@Gyffes-678 no worries, it took me a while to figure out. It's a bit fiddly, but you can do it with the road upgrade tool and I think turning off snapping

Great content as always! You really stand out in creating nature in cs2. A much under appreciated aspect of the game
@Gyffes-67819 күн бұрын
I think that's because the vanilla landscaping tools are pretty meh. Also the game engine is very underutilized. I think once we have proper modding support this will change very quickly.
