@5:31 do you mean by setting something other than autoblip in the settings menu and use clutch and throttle to manual blip?in general, which mode would your recommend for driving mx5, autoblig, completely manual, etc
@FindingSpeed
@FindingSpeed 7 күн бұрын
Autoblip is no good for MX5. Set it manual and learn how to rev match with a manual throttle blip when shifting down to first gear (and sometimes even down to second). It’s the fastest method and gives you the most control.

I guess I have the same questions about cost as the posters before me. I really enjoyed your build, good design, consider at least some aspects of it stolen. 👍🏻🔥

Hi, thank you for this series of videos, - I'm a DCS sim pilot and also wheelchair bound (this will make sence to you soon) I have issues setting up my gear so i cant even go for a fly often, brought the next level racing flight sim pro and it didnt do what it was supose too and was too uncomfitable too (40" seperation between throttle and stick) but i found your video and now am looking to design a ali station. May i ask, do you think they would be strong enough (ballence wise) to have with out a chair, so i can use it more as a front frame for example, so i can use my gaming chair or wheelchair depending on my day. did u order your alli profile from the company you send the quote to on the software or someone else (sorry if i missed it) and would u be willing to say roughtly how much it all came too? many thanks

Thanks for watching. You could definitely tailor this to make a frame that simply sits in front of you. I don’t know what kind of weight of equipment you’re putting on it, but mine wasn’t top heavy with out me sitting in it. It needs a non-slip mat or even rubber feet ideally since it’s surprisingly lightweight and would slide on hard / wood flooring. I designed it in the software, which prints a handy parts list which gives you dimensions. I used that info to order direct from my supplier. I spent around £250 on the profiles, but I don’t know what today’s prices are like. Hope that helps!

@@FindingSpeed Thank you for the reply, helps a hell of a lot tbh, as for weight i really dont know either, but i know the Foot pedals are probably most of the weight so should help hold it down. i will start coming up with some ideas soon then, winwing took a ali frame setup with them to the flight sim expo to show off what can be done, so i might try and work with that. Thanks again bud this is so helpful
@Phoenixfett
@Phoenixfett 20 күн бұрын
@@FindingSpeed got another question for you, if you dont mind, how did you know what parts you would need for "strengh" of holding parts? - im new to all of this so i honestly dont know how much weight one of these can / should handle
@FindingSpeed
@FindingSpeed 20 күн бұрын
@Phoenixfett assuming you’re dealing with racing / flight sim equipment you’ll be fine with 40/40. People often use 80/40 or 120/40 for based to make them higher or heavier, but in terms of strength they’re incredibly strong so you won’t need to worry unless you’re creating an industrial application.

Hey man, very nice video! I started playing iracing 2 days ago with zero driving experience. I don't even know how to drive a real car. I don't have a wheel, only an xbox controller. In my first day, I wasn't even capable of staying inside the track. My car was also oversteering and understeering in every corner. On my 2nd day, I started to get better and better and better and I was able to stay inside the track at lower speeds but at least I was finishing the laps. On day 3, I started to gain more speed and soon after I managed to do my fastest lap at 1:51! After this video, I think I should be able to improve my time a bit more!

As someone who has driven a car before…. What on earth are they thinking at iracing headquarters? No car drives like the mx5… even on cold tires, heck you can drive on snowy roads and have more grip than that car. I get it… it’s a car that is incredibly rewarding to master… especially if you do a lot of driving on hockey rinks, frozen lakes or margarine. Seriously though, can I get an amen? Honestly the car makes me giggle sometimes by the insane antics.

@@DirtyMike2024 that’s wild! I guess they wanted to exaggerate the forces and reactions on the car, but I can’t think of a reason why, especially considering the towering cost of using iRacing, you’d think they would want the first road car rookies use to be a friendly foray into the esport…. But what do I know..

@ 1:13 Once we go flat out through that section, when we catch it right, and were on the limit all the way through, it's one of the most satisfying sections of turns that I've experienced so far. Summit Point Sector 3 gives me the same sensation. LOVE IT!! Seriously Im addicted to thatfeeling now.. If my PC didn't run iRacing. It would be a 2000$ Paper Weight. Hard to say without seeing your driving, but it sounds like you’re lifting out of the brake way too fast. Don’t focus on wheee I start breaking - focus on where I stop braking (and how I trail the brake into the apex). This will keep your car more stable and controllable during corner entry.

know this is an old video, but wondering if you remember your cost for the frame components only? I admittedly didn't have the patience (since I am in the US) to jot down the cost of every item and quantity and convert to US currency. Hoping you might be able to throw a ballpark figure out just trying to see how much I would save if I built this over buying/ if I built this if I could spend the same on upgrading accessories/sim racing components to get more value for money
