haven't heard the full album yet but i heard the biology single a while back and was immediately blown away by how wildly different and experimental it was while still remaining a catchy fun pop song.

i barely knew her existance before this documentary but now i've seen everything she has done I can't do anything but wonder, is she so very much more talented than her sister?

It’s so interesting to see such in depth documentation of the music industry turning someone into a star. I really loved Ashlee when she came out at first and it’s crazy to think how young she was when she went through all that pressure and the SNL incident poor thing. It’s also wild to see her transformation from the first to the second album. She lost that joyous spark, lost so much weight, changed her face, and not even 21? Ugh so sad.

Something about Geri Was was the point i decided i was done being a spice/solo fan... and totally stopped caring beyond that until the reunion Which just happened abd took off like a rocket Geri is so evolved.her mid 30s made her a bit cringe and delusional part of the lack of self awareness comes with being so isolated without the rest of the group and not even having them as friends leaves you completely in bubble surrounding yourself with yes man

All the iconic solo and spice stuff aside. The girl who really surprised me suddenly when i least expected it was Victoria jumping on the solo bandwagon and coming out with a track that was such s departure from spice,solo or anything we ever expected. I loved the tune it was just so infectious and catchy, after rhe end of the long summer it was posts turn to go all out doing a futuristic video and very cool performances and costumes thst made the song the real sleeper hit..i believe it was a number 1 that Mrs Beckham was robbed off and powers worked to somehow last minute slotting it in at number two.. they could not afford Victoria to have any credibility as a Singer whereas they were less cruel to Geri's lack of singing prowess. They had seen Victoria coming from a mile away with her work ethic and determination. She was always the most popular spice Girls even after marriage and kids she was one half of brand Beckham Which was the spring off successor to spice girls.. she nailed it.but sadly the record companies are criminally responsible for purposely pressuring artists who won't comprise their morels to choose a mediocre and weak song by making industry experts choose it over Much better songs. I also feel that the songs that had potential with teasers that leaked with the first verse sounding so cool, ultimately releasing witb a very lame second verse with bsd lyrics and repetitive songs(I wish) whatchu takin bout that had real potential also mel b being subjected to not being utilized for her dance snd singing by making her select mediocre stuff thst sounded trendy with slick production and videos but not being fan favorites.. Victoria was essentially wasting her time bothering to do it solo cuz they essentially wanted her to be super vulgar and unlike herself to be able to get any opportunities snd just msdr her locked in the studio to keeo her away from David to orchestrate the planted woman in his staff in Spain who was almost destined to be a mistress in a bid to split them. A couple apart is a win win for the press and gives X 4 the revenues to all the players participating in the game thank God there were sacrifices from them both as shown to us in Beckhams 2024 . Her debut album was my jam the year it came out. I was in 8th grade and living in Germany at the time. I haven't heard it in a while now, but I probably could still sing it from beginning to end.

I've been alive on this Earth for 40 years and had no clue Lisa Marie had a music career, let alone a stunning one 😬. She was typically known as the Princess of Famous People's Kids.

Never was a fan of her music, and I was surprised that out of all the videos on this channel she has one of the longest. I think the reason why I wasn't a fan is because her target audience was younger than me. Although Ashlee and I were born the same year. And I also felt like she copied a lot of elements from other artists of the time. Instead of have her own vibe. Of course younger kids wouldn't notice that.

I think a lot of the problem is that the industry didn't take them very seriously. If you watch the music awards shows they participated in, Chris Rock and others dog them the entire time as a "joke". I think that would ruin my drive to continue.

I will never understand the thinking behind pushing 'Chick Fit' as the second single. 'On and On' was a much more 'standard' offering from the All Saints and could have appealed to a broader audience. It would have been hard to turn around from the low chart placing, but it might have salvaged some sales.

Some singles especially back before streaming and even downloads existed to sell the album. I always felt that way with the Stronger/AWDF double A side, they'd already had a 1-2 punch with Freak and Round Round going to number 1 and the label probably wanted to sell the album (£12.99 back then if I remember vs £3.99 for a single). You'll notice that after this was released the chart trajectory of the album went upwards and they were in the top 10 in the post Christmas period which back in the 90's/00's you could sell more albums being at number 10 over Christmas than you could all throughout the year even at number 2 (sometimes in total). Stronger was the album seller and AWDF being on the single was to remind of the albums name, which sounds obvious but seriously before social media you really did have to lead a horse to water! Similar thing happened with Three using Too Lost In You and Taller in More Ways using Ugly.
