I saw Fort Apache and they were right. That felt like a pilot for a TV Show.

I saw Somewhere in Time with a mentally disturbed girl I dated in college. I can't break that association and give the movie a fair shot.

Rocky 3 was awesome - Mr T was legit scary

Sphere has some trouble with length and pacing while struggling to get the story in because it's coming from a novel, but it's not really supposed to be a special effects showcase. it's very disingenuous knocking it because Queen Latifa dies first. A) that's the story and what happens in the book B) [SPOILER] Samuel Jackson is the one who figures out how to save the survivors. sometimes i wish they left their white guilt at home.

Watching these old shows has been interesting to me. When these guys disagree, they set out their view, maybe take a couple playful jabs at the other, and move on amicably. It feels like even this simple back and forth about movies can't exist today. Everyone is divided into camps in a zero sum game in which the other side doesn't simply have an honest difference of opinion, but instead are the embodiment of evil.

I saw NIMH in 1982 at age 10 and it fit right. Always loved this film.

Lisa Eichhorn gave a stellar performance in Cutter's Way (why did she never make it big?), and I would have recommended the film for her alone. But hey, we all know why we're here. And what can you say about Raiders that has not already been said? I saw it 15 times when it played in a local theater for over a year, and I can still watch it and discover something new each time. It is pop entertainment raised to the level of fine art.

Roger Ebert gave thumbs up to 'George of the Jungle' with Brendan Fraser in 1997. The fact that he couldn't see that as one of the worst films of 1997 still mystifies me.

I actually liked these two on the show after Roeper left. I wish they had lasted longer as a duo

This is the second time the episode didn't match the title. Doubt they are going to correct it. It must be a bot posting these episodes on some predetermined schedule. On July 30, 2024 they posted an episode labeled "Star Trek, Kramer vs. Kramer, The Jerk, Sleeping Beauty" when it was a totally different episode. Multiple commenters pointed that out - and it was never swapped or corrected.

Apparently off screen, Nicol Williamson and Helen Mirren did not get along at all, but they delivered bravura performances. Two brilliant actors. They eventually made up years later. You can’t keep truly great actors hating each other forever Both Gene and Roger are wide off the mark on Excalibur. It’s amazing

I agreed more often with Roger than I did with Gene but Roger had such a blind spot for horror films. He liked Halloween and that was the end of it for him. He just didn’t understand what people want out of them.
