Are these places for sale? So sad to see such beautiful history just rot away. Would be amazing to reclaim them to their original beauty.
@HolaWorld
@HolaWorld 5 ай бұрын
They are not for sale. They're part of a nature reserve and I believe they're considered historical buildings/landmarks. It's sad that all the secluded cortijos are in such a ruinous state, though. I've wondered why the structures collapsed relatively fast.

...looved this very much... been once to the gorge of the Poqueira river with its beautiful dream-like moorish-built villages, and ever since longing to return to that magical land... history is in big ways so sad and painful... why would one religious tribe drive away and eliminate another, not due to a deeper understanding of the universe, but due to superiority in sheer arms power? However, the Moors left an outstanding heritage there, of beautiful architecture, fruit orchards and clever irrigation systems... ...just some feedback to the docu... I loved the visuals of it, and thats what I came for, but I think it would have helped, if there would be audio footage too - my eyes kept on being glued to the text to not miss anything, but it is strenuous to constantly monitor both - the text and the visuals... and the musical choices were a bit eerie and nerve-wracking... maybe to emphasize the dark historical facts? - I found myself imagining some Spanish classical guitar, e.g. of the many master composers, like Rodrigo, Segovia, Tarrega or Sor, which would fit the landscapes, the Iberian sun and local culture very well... just a thought...🌞

but hey.!!!!!! But hey, this is a first for me because it treats me as if I have some intelligence and a curiosity. Yours is not "slow or boring"; quite the opposite. I only spent one day in the area but found much of what you filmed, but of course did not understand the history that explained the irrigation and abandoned settlements. I drove from Capileira to just below Mulahacen. I was in a small hire car and had to drive on top of deep ruts formed by big vehicles. I learned that a succulent plant , sempervivum , could grow at the very high altitude below Mulacen. In the same location I saw a boggy lake surrounded by melting snow with hundreds of crocuses. Lower down I saw a brown foxglove, Digitalis obscura. If you go back to the area I would appreciate it if you would alert me to any film that you make.

@@HolaWorld it was Central Electric company. An old hydroelectric plant from the early 1900’s. I did this trail back in September. Incredible day. My path took me the opposite way round to yours. I don’t know if it just didn’t make the edit, or if you missed it, but there’s a path way down there which takes you even closer to the bridge. When you look down there’s one of the natural pool area. I’d have loved to have gone further but you needed a rope and harness to go further. Amazing day nonetheless, highly recommend it. Bring mosquito spray!

@HolaWorld
@HolaWorld 9 ай бұрын
I don't know. I was only in Ronda for six days. I think I saw the walkway you mention, along the side of the cliff? It was closed and it seemed too risky for the public, unless they put up a guardrail. This area is below that path.

Awesome!! You truly captured the beauty of one of my favourite areas in the Malaga region. I did this hike a few months before you and appreciate the amazing history. My two hiking buddies from our town of Antequera were equally curious about the history. I managed to get a capture by drone for my channel and like you we were blessed with fantastic weather. I will definitely head back there again this year as the area is beautiful especially above a cloud inversion. 👍🏿🤗👏🏿

Thank you! 5.5 hours from Canillas de Aceituno. Three hours up and 2.5 hours down. I didn't take any breaks, because I was unsure of how long it would take and I had to get back before dark. If I had a car, I would've been able to start walking earlier and I could've taken my time.
