This is the way things are and will always be, as we must continue to uphold the barrier and in doing so their ignorance..."

Great insight at 21:40. This needs to be said so I'm gonna say it. Pastor Fisk, I hope one day you are teaching Pastors how to become better preachers. I hope there are at least a few who are listening to your messages in order to learn some strategies they could apply in their own sermons, not to try to copycat. Having said this, we need Pastors like you to be in settings where this can happen. It's similar to the military, where we want our best officers teaching other officers to become better, like at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, which is close to my home of Atchison. I'd hate for Rockford to lose you, and I know Jesus has called you to tend his sheep there, but we in the LCMS definitely need you as a Pastor/Teacher to help pass the torch to the next generation of LCMS Pastors. If you do not hear the news to tell you what is happening, you can be assured there are always wars, or rumors of wars, or famines ... The state of the Church is as it always was since Adam's fall, until Christ returns. He is keeping His Church, His promises, His Words. What we see, what we hear is screwed. His Kingship was a carpenter and Rabbi. His glory is death on a cross. His power is His words spoken and written. His steed was a donkey. What we see and hear does not give us our confidence... except we hear His Words spoken, we see His Words, body and blood. Put your confidence in these. Put your confidence in your God. I know that my redeemer lives. Trust His Word.

I knew what a sower is even though I am city girl. You cast handfuls of grain across a field. I had a pastor once point out that Jesus called it the parable of the SOWER, not the parable of the soils. That we spread His Word even though we do not know what kind of soil it hits.
