I love this vid!, I'm 58, never raced but never went anywhere without my bmx bike, we bombed around trails and jumped everything. I'm watching vids like yours and realizing how much I miss it, thinking about building a bike, old school style (Race ra20) at first, maybe hit a track and see if I have any skills, still in pretty good shape, we'll see how it goes. Thanks for being an inspiration!! 👍

Sometimes its not the bike. When components and frames are typically all the same, it will come down to the rider. None of the bikes these riders use is stock. IMO

Unless these are made in the USA, they're made in Taiwan or China (that's for Alu or Carbon). There's definitely space in BMX racing for these brands and Mongoose are doing great with Kevan Peraza in freestyle but the purists in the community will likely still shun them for other brands.
@crazyalcayne4 күн бұрын
Luckily there are more folks who just love BMX bikes and way less purist, bike snobs.

It is a shame that after the Olympics happen that venues including the BMX tracks are just forgotten, and nature or in the case of Beijing and Tokyo man destroys the tracks. I put all the blame on the IOC/UCI and the local Federations/Organizations for failing their countries and the people of those countries who through taxes paid for the venues. In regards to the BMX tracks good on London, Paris, and now Rio on making sure to use the tracks and not let them go to waste.

I love that you think that Huffy hasn't had a new bike come out between here and there and I currently have one of the prototypes which is a magnesium frame huffy came out with.. they were in a collaboration with another company I can't remember something Air i think and Josh Smith was one of the BMX riders who used to race this particular frame To be more precise DK purchased the frame in the process and probably listed under a dk prototype... If you look on BMX Museum and probably type in DK prototype you'll probably see my white magnesium frame .... but again it was made and designed by Huffy along with another company and then sold to DK

I'd love to get my hands on one of the new Cam Wood woodgrain frames. I'd get a few parts painted to match the frame, bars, cranks, rims and hubs. I'd also run tan grips, tan seat, gum wall tires and blue titanium bolts throughout

Got the Olive green Exist pro 24inch cruiser and reloaded the frame with all high end components for my son and even though he’s a really big 16yr old the build has shown to be pretty bulletproof so far. (Edit** it’s made of 6061 hydroformed butted tubing and has a 21.75”TT)
@crazyalcayne13 күн бұрын
Yep, the aluminum frames were low key good quality. 21.75tt on cruiser is kinda short for a taller rider. 21.75tt on a 20in actually has more leg room than a 24in? I'd love to see some pics of your sons bike. I know it must look fresh!
@WaveLordLuis13 күн бұрын
@@crazyalcayne Yeah man I always thought 21.75 was a little short. My son and I are both over 6ft tall. I was able to get him more room with a longer stem and seat post. I myself need a 22TT. I’ll send you a picture on FB 👊🏽

the stu thompson was my dream bike. i went to get it as our local hardware store had one in stock. but it was gone. so i got a bike called the huffy usa freestyle trick team. i have looked up that bike over and over and over. and i cant find any info on it. it was yellow. and it had grip tape on the top tube and it had a sticker next to the grip tape that said freestyle grip or something like that. it was yellow but it had baby light blue and lack stickers. 2 pc black bars. black steel rims. snakebelly tires. i wish i could find a photo of it on google but i have tried over and over. i got it around the same time the stu thompson was for sale. but i type in random years in my search and i still cant find it. i do have a photo of the frame as i still got the frame.
