@@NeilMagill Hi mate sorry to bother you, spent all day bleeding the clutch and doing the gravity bleed when finished to make sure all airs out and definitely bled right, but issue still there Change gear no problem Push clutch in and release slowly it bites really really low, If you push the clutch down again after only lifting it an inch or 2 before it bites when you’ve pushed it to the floor it’s like it’s got a mind of its own and clutch goes to floor and sticks in gear even with clutch fully pressed Only gets out of gear when you turn it off What would you think it is, internal leak on master cylinder ? Or concentric valve issue which sounds unlikely given the mileage It’s doing my head in It’s was a new sport clutch and single mass flywheel and new concentric slave less than 15000 miles ago… was parked up a year due to fuel pump issue.. got it started and started with clutch issues

Hello again - I’ve just fitted the new battery following your excellent guide, but after fitment when turning on the ignition there is nothing on the dash and the fuel pump doesn’t prime either like normal. Car will briefly start when turning the key again but then cut out. There is power to unlock the car, turn on headlights, interior lights etc - but nothing on the dash display, nor will it start. Any ideas?
@NeilMagill9 ай бұрын
Very strange, does the battery have charge, have you cycled the ignition a few times to prime the fuel system?
@JC_469 ай бұрын
@@NeilMagill battery has charge yes and have cycled the ignition multiple times. Lights are on fine, interior lights boot light all ok. But dash is completely blank and radio is asking for code. When starting car immediately cuts out after running for 1 second. Possibly a fuse gone when changing battery? Battery is brand new, bought from Tayna a couple days back. Will probably have to call home start out to see if they can help :/
@JC_468 ай бұрын
@@NeilMagill thought I’d update you. Turns out the whole dash / cluster went. Apparently really common on the MK5 platform. why do they make new hose SOOO long??!
@zahimiibrahim36029 ай бұрын
First time I did this I thought the bolts were torx then realised they were triple square. The bits are not very common and the metal plate doesnt need high torque so why VW chose to do this I have no idea, it's so annoying, almost like they want owners to get stuck in times of emergency. I had to borrow the correct triple square bit from a friendly local mechanic and later changed them to allen bolts and keep a correct size key with the tool set in the car.

Hi Neil, what are the chances that this Pipe can come loose (i.e. disconnect from the inside) through normal opening and closing of the boot? I ask because my VW was sent in for inspection due to water build up in the tailgate (which has caused damage to electrical connectors) and this pipe was disconnected. I'm told as it's water damage it's not covered under warranty but my view is those electrics wouldn't have been damaged if the pipe was connected in the first place. Would really appreciate a response mate - I'm looking at a bill of £2k atm to sort this out. Cheers buddy.
@NeilMagill10 ай бұрын
I agree and would fight that. There is a known issue with water getting into the tailgate and leave it there.
@chaz15910 ай бұрын
@@NeilMagill Thanks Neil appreciate the reply. I had a reversing camera fitted from the main dealer and the Technician who inspected the car said most likely the engineer who fitted the camera forgot to reconnect this pipe after installing the camera. But the Main Dealer is not claiming responsibility (surprise surprise). So you think I should just make the claim through the warranty and follow through with that process?
@NeilMagill10 ай бұрын
@@chaz159 100%, I'd say it's the fault of the dealer that fitted the reverse camera.
