Thank you for watching! As for the B16a’s in Japan, most are stock engines with straight exhaust and an ECU tune. Very simple recipe👍

@@user-kh1nb4lx9k the b16b is actually made from a different casting than the b16a, b16b block is basically the same as a b18c but with a shorter crank👌

@@boomboomtisk but I saw some b18 and b20 vtec and also b16a with b16b camshaft and pistons. They dont except it?
@boomboomtisk
@boomboomtisk 19 сағат бұрын
In the US it is common to see B18 and B20 VTEC, also it is common for people to use B16B cam on B16A. In Japan, more likely someone will just replace the cams with an aftermarket brand, such as TODA. Also, converting a non vtec engine to vtec with a cylinder head change is not common. More likely, someone will race with a straight b16a, b16b or b18c Another upgrade that some of us in the US do with the b18b is to switch out the pistons for higher comp P30 ones from a b16a. A b20 however, can’t except pistons from a b16 or b18 because those two engines have an 81mm piston bore and the b20 is 84mm. If you’re changing pistons or swapping heads on an engine, the best thing to do is check for clearance with the clay method. Since there are so many variations, it’s better to just make sure what you’re working with is good. Maybe it’s worth a search here on KZbin so you can find videos that cover this type of information👍

For one session on your next track day, try holding the steering wheel at 9 & 3 (instead of 10 & 2) and see if you feel any difference. You might want to consider revisiting steering / seat / foot control positions as well. It looks like you are over extending your arms. Just some friendly advice. Great work! Glad the ek came out relatively unscathed.

Thanks for the tip! The steering ratio on the EK is a bit slow and so I end up having to shuffle my hands quite a bit. I would definitely want to swap it for a quicker rack in the future. Yes, addressing ergonomics is also on the to-do list! I appreciate the constructive feedback🤝🤝

@@boomboomtisk you can try swapping to a smaller diameter steering wheel (like a 330mm or 320mm) for a quicker steering ratio effect. You might get more of a arm workout without power steering tho

Came into the comments to add a note about the steering wheel being too far away. At least a 40mm spacer will have huge benefit in keeping your hands in the correct positions. Once you've got the ergonomics right, the car will be a breeze to drive!
