Clicked to gain a little more Beatles trivia. But wow. Wow. I really don't know what to say. I'll just put my thoughts down. I read something once said that the Eastman family weren't just random people named Eastman, but were THE Eastmans associated with Kodak and portable photography and film development, so my mind went to the film quality. The film quality and premise of this piece made me think of that old tv horror/soap opera show that I think was called "Dark Shadows" that I never watched. And the coup de grace, is this being the opposite of Dark Shadows, and instead an ad for the 700 Club. Just a weird little roller coaster my mind went on.
@RoccoDeLauriSr8 сағат бұрын
Most people think that about The Eastmans, but Linda and Laura's family had nothing to do with Kodak. Their dad was a very successful lawyer and the one who Paul wanted to be the Beatles lawyer while John, George, and Ringo wanted Allen Klein. Of course Paul was 100% right as Klein was a crook and history proves it. And this spot was "filmed" around 1980 so the quality is exactly what you say, very well done! And Warren used some Hitchcockian lighting also!

You can say Django Reinhardt or whatever, when styles are so different the comparison is pretty off. Yamandu Costa is probably the greatest to me right now, however you can be a great pop guitarist or a brazilian choro, flamenco, gypsy, progressive, punk, etc, etc. Really different forms of music requires differentl ideas of composition, structures and so on. You can't compare for example the beach boys to paco de Lucia or Paco's music to Stravinsky

@gabrielegagliardi3956Ай бұрын
@@palpalonpalpalon Nah,, if you ask a jazz, classical or flamenco guitar player nobody will tell you that Paco is better than Wes Montgomery, Django Reinhardt, Yamandu Costa or even Hendrix. You can't compare apples and oranges. Is like asking if Beethoven is better than Mozart, you can have a preference, you are moved more by one or the other but "better", reached a certain hyper stellar level, is a totally arbitrary concept. Even more they lived in different eras and played a different style of music. That said technique ain't the only variable involved, you have great songwriters like Leonard Cohen or Nick Drake that crafted masterpieces with a fraction of Paco's technique, Music is not weightlifting and sometimes, like Miles Davis said, less is more.
@palpalonpalpalonАй бұрын
@@gabrielegagliardi3956 technique isnt objective but you can choose from someones music so obviously hendrix is someone's favorite and someone else's favorite is paco
@gabrielegagliardi3956Ай бұрын
@@palpalonpalpalon Yep, that's what I said. From a technical standpoint you can't say that Paco is better than Yamandu Costa, just watch one of his video, that guy is a modern Paganini, alien level. On the other hand if you prefer Flamenco over Brazilian Choro you are going to chose Paco over him, that doesn't make Paco a better musician, it simply your preference and your personal taste. Hendrix revolutionised the instrument, if you consider that particular aspect as pivotal your are going to chose Hendrix over Paco but objectively the one is not better than the other, they are apples and oranges.

Jimi knew he was one of the most gifted guitarists, back in the late 60s, but he was too modest or reserved, to admit it. No one likes a know it all, constantly boasting about their guitar skills. He knew he was good, and was too down to earth, to boast about it. Were still talking about him, long after his untimely death. Alongside BB King, and other great Blues players, Jimi Hendrix will forever remain a legend, and there are not many people who can lay claim to that.

To put into perspective how extremely unlikely it is to become an NHL player in its entire 100 year existence less than 8,000 men have skated on NHL ice. Right now there are a combined 1 million registered hockey players in the US and Canada alone. An NHL roster has 12 forwards, 6 defensemen, and 2 goalies. 32 nhl teams. 640 players. So 640 is less than 1 1,000th of 1 percent relative to all people playing with guys like McDavid and Makar being an even smaller percentile and I didnt even count europeans or the fact that most quit by the time high school rolls around.
