Shouldn't the idle compression be about half the cranking compressor..so a 50 psi is low ..and also what causes pressure to drop from idle to 1200 rpm

I am trouble shooting rattling noise of BMW N20 petrol engine (sounds like diesel). One potential noise source is HPFP. The engine rattling noise disappears when after acceleration or steady driving, the accelerator/gas pedal is released and comes back when the acceleratot is pressed again or car come close to stop. At the same time I can see (though OBD reader) that thefuel air mixture curve jumps up (when noise disappears) and comes back to normal range, when noise comes back.. So I'm wondering if the rattle comes from mechanical action of piston against eccentric, and then when the accelerator is released and noise disappears, does the piston stay up and do not follow the eccentric (no mechanical contact, no noise)?

I have positive High LTFT & STFT, LTFT %26 and STFT 18%, STFT increasing with high RPM and LTFT degrees with High RPM but not gose less than %18 whatever RPM, Example, LTFT %26 and Change to 18% once touch accelerate paddle and stuck at %18 even if 6000 RPM, I made smoke test but no leak at all Replaced Valve cover including low pressure fuel pump with filter Also changed intake gasket but still same symptoms, Last thing replaced Bank1 sensor 1 O2 sensor, You think bank1 sensor 2 O2 sensor causing high fuel term or something else ?

What signal pickup is used here? Capacitive? Inductive? I bought Hantech HT-25 capacitive (Amazon, eBay) but its output does not look like yours no matter what vehicle with distributor I try.

You ROCK SIR! I ran into a Japan version Subaru which was listed to have CAN with 16pin DLC.... however when I went to go do my CAN validation I discovered that there was no Pin 6/14 !!! only Pin7 for the k-Line!

Struggling here. I'm working on a 2011 Ford transit connect and I think this particular ford has a totally different system than this. It's a 6 pin electric egr valve and I believe that means there is no DPFE system. Is that correct? I'm going to try to get more data by comparing MAP voltage and Commanded EGR % now.

Thanks for the great insight. This is the best video I have found, and I worked in aerospace engineering in R&D ….on the stealth fighters using oscilloscopes, and closed loop systems on my job I appreciate your great info! I’ve got an electronics engineering background. This exact thing happened to me sitting in a drive-through in my 2007 Mustang…at a fast food restaurant, and I didn’t know what was happening, it went in limp mode …And only idled, not reacting to any input from the accelerator pedal! Reason being…I was holding my brakes waiting at the window…and had to pull into the Street creeping into a nearby hospital ….where I shut off the engine! It restarted fine and it happened once again …after I did some testing at home. Also while Putting the brakes on backing out of my driveway …and I shut it off ….and restarted just fine. I ordered a new APP from AutoZone.

This information you have given on the ford egr system, was god send for me. I'm self educating, and completely on my own. Your program and the lessons you have posted has literally been the most valuable part of my learning experience. It has educated my understanding and perceptions of these many concepts and complicated engineering puzzle boxes. I'm glad to have more knowledge and insights to field, but at this time is really more necessity than anything, just to be able to get back and forth to work.... I'm fortunate to have had the luck to run across your classes. It is a TON OF INFORMATION TO PROCESS. Surprisingly i have found that I understand it quite well and follow along understandably. Which sometimes can be difficult for me to comprehend some things that run down a different track that i do. And also, the information gets pointed out and simplified making it easier to understand. I love it...🤟🏻

Thank you! Great video it helped solve my issue with emission monitors not being ready. The aftermarket fuel pump had the 5V Ref and PCM signals swapped at pigtail. After I swapped the pins on 8 pin connector I got 2.7 V where before I was getting 4.07. I wonder how many fuel pumps were delivered with that quality issue. Thanks to this video I was able to get 2002 Mustang to pass CA smog.👍🏽👍🏽
