I got mine for 650 dlls. 2002 Honda Shadow ACE with (26,000) miles. I cleaned the carburetor, and that was all the problem it had. I changed the color, bought new parts, and now it works great.

Being that this video is over 3 years old. I am sure someone has already pointed out. And for the sake of being repeated, Anyone who knows the running voltage on the charging system. Should read Anywhere between thirteen five and fourteen volts d c, While your meter only read somewhere in the twelve range. Not good. Might want to check that voltage regulator or stater.

This is the work you can expect to perform on a cheap bike. Tires plus mounting. Brake pads and fluid flush. Grease bearings. Carb cleaning and possible rebuilding. Gaskets, jets. Possible carb isolators. Fuel filter and pump. Clean or replace the fuel tank. Fuel lines. Cable lubricating and adjusting. Air filter. Plugs. Oil and filter change. Adding acce$$orie$ Chain replacement or adjusting. Coolant flush and replacement if applicable. Cleaning and polishing. Like a Ferrari, there is no such thing as a cheap motorcycle. With that said, a lot of riders have no mechanical skills at all and panic when it doesn't run and sell them cheap. Could end up being a $40 part.

I picked up a '98 Valkyrie with the Cobra 6x6s last August for $4900 with only 3900 miles. Of course, $1k later (after the fuel tank had to be replaced from rust), it has been absolutely wild.

As the original owner of a ‘97 Valkyrie with 106,000 miles on it, I would tell you that it is one of the easiest motorcycle to ride: easy to shift, easy to balance, stops on the proverbial dime and absolutely reliable. I have three other bikes: two BMWs and a Triumph, but the Valkyrie is still my overall favorite to ride after 25 years. I am turning 70 in a few months, should start to downsize, but I will keep the Valk as long as I can maneuver it around the garage. BTW, it only goes as fast as one twists the throttle-3.6 seconds to 60MPH if so inclined.

The boat turned out great! I replaced the transmission, refinished the V-berth and got rid of the rotten laminate (bulkheads were fine), and wound up selling it. The wife didn’t care for sailboats at all. I doubled my money on it, so I was happy.

I would have bought the valkyrie in a heartbeat. I have 2 already.. Wait til you find out the carbs are gummed up and dry rot is affecting the fuel system rubber components. That's gonna run you$900 to get some right. There are a couple of guys in the Valk community that know what they are doing. Dealership will turn you away because it's over 10 years old. Most dudes that mess with these 6 carb bikes screw up the carb job. Then when was the rear end last serviced? Every 10000 miles you have to pull the drive line off, inspect the u joint, propeller, shaft, and pinion cup and relubricate. Then you pull the wheel of the differential and replace the 3 O rings( hope you find the secret hidden 3rd one), most likely the dampers in the hub as they wear out right regularly, then check the thrust washer and relubricate drive flange with 2 of the o rings you put in with moly paste, not grease, find the hidden#3 replace it. Then the fun begins. There is a specific order in putting the components back in the bike Screw that up and you buy a new drive line. fixed and clean no other issues that bike will fetch around $4500. Still a little meat on the bone. Oh the moisture on the plug? What an idiot. There is a weep hole at the base of the plug insert. They can get clogged with dirt that gets on there. No big deal, clean it out with a small wire. Coolant leak? Sometimes I know the winner the tube that goes to the top of the engine block will contract and it will leak a little bit until it warms up . Generally these bikes don't ever leak any liquids ever from anywhere except for as the water pump starts going out it'll begin to weep down there and you can't just put new seals in it you got to buy a whole new water pump and 200 plus dollars at a discount OEM Supply. Why you're in there well it's just good to run a bunch of distilled water through and get all the coolant crud out of the system put it all back together get some proper antifreeze for aluminum engines with no silicates and refill the cooling system but if you don't do it right you'll have a bunch of air trapped in it and it'll tend to run hot. But get all that done you'll have a nice bike I know people with 300 to $700,000 miles on these things but they always take care of them and they never get into the condition that one's in. Too bad the guy fucked up the head cuz like you said he didn't say what it was what with but those fuckers don't leak if anything there'd be oil underneath it and these bikes are known for never dripping oil ever. So good luck with the project just thought I'd let you in for what you really in for I love these bikes I would like to have more of them they're fun to work on fairly easy if you got the tools and the knowledge. But unfortunately as time goes on NOS OEM parts are starting to get scarce and then well you got to hope you can find a used part to just isn't too used. The shadow is a pretty good score. I have that bike too. Good luck

Hi DWF, I'm working on a 2002 ? Honda VT750CDD ACE, and am wondering about the rear fender to frame bolts. Looking for some great looking replacements in chrome to fill the 4 empty holes with. UNSAFE as it is. Length and diameter would be great to know. I might get grade 8 bolts, as I'm like, 3X the man I was 35 years ago.
@Hndsmstrngr12 жыл бұрын
Go to a Honda discount OEM Parts Supply and look at the parts fee and it will show you the bolt and it will actually tell you the dimensions of it like six times 26 6 mm 26 mm long and you can get your answers there

U can run these bikes without the fuel pump. U have to make a horizontal loop off fuel hose from pet cock. Then a mini fuel filter. Keep line high as possible above float bowls. It runs very well without a pump. Mine had significant more torque without the pump
