I've been working on my own Yugioh system for a few years, and I'm really excited to read over yours. I actually found this video about a year ago, but I didn't want to see anyone else's work until I'd done more of my own. It's really cool that someone else has done the same project I've been working on. I'll come back and post something about your system once I've gone through it.

There are cheats you can take and one of them is very Megumin. For example, I can't remember it's name exactly, there's a cheat you can get that will make your magic attack VERY strong but the drawback is that you can't really act much in battle because you used all your energy. There's another that basically makes it to where you're almost always broke as well as more unique ones. I have the trpg book and it's pretty cute.

The song idea reminds me of the big disadvantage of the archetype design yugioh has doubled down on over the years, it's a bottleneck in terns of the kinds of deckbuilding one can do. I remember Andrew Garfield likening an MTG deck to a D&D character sheet. I think that's a good philosophy to have.

BGG, RPGG, etc., is absolute garbage. Sadly, they are still the biggest database, but they have supported B14ck L1v3s M4tt3r, which are notorious for attacking bl4ck people, they are funded by G30rg3 S0r0s, their leaders have huge mansions while supposedly supporting the poor and downtrodden, they attack common people and not the rich and c0rrupt p0liticians, etc. BGG also censors anything that doesn't follow their woke narrative and agenda; this is even more blatant, when you discover that the ones attacking anyone, that do not follow their narrative, do not get moderated, in fact, they are personal friends with the mods, and even their relatives. A few years back, there was a guy who constantly attacked anyone and anything who was not woke, and he was the husband of the moderator, how very convenient 🤣 I stopped going to that place years ago, and only look at its database once every couple of years, as a last resort, when I can't find information on some game. They also promoted the "body beautiful" movement, which is the fat downwards spiral of death, which results in h3art attacks, diab3t3s, etc., etc.

Interesting question. Why is it that board/card games don't seem to be terribly immersive? The comment about them "cribbing from TTRPG's" isn't wrong, but I feel like it misses the point. Inspiration SHOULD be pulled from any and every medium. This is how innovation happens.
