The song idea reminds me of the big disadvantage of the archetype design yugioh has doubled down on over the years, it's a bottleneck in terns of the kinds of deckbuilding one can do. I remember Andrew Garfield likening an MTG deck to a D&D character sheet. I think that's a good philosophy to have.

Hmm. I haven't heard of the deck building aspect being likened to a character sheet, but that's interesting. I'll have to think more on it. I definitely agree that Yu-Gi-Oh design really hurts the game. I get why they felt the need to do it, but it's led to less than exciting decks. Lorcana's songs may fall into that, but I'm not sure yet. I'd have to give it more thought and learn a bit more.

The idea behind this game is actually really cool...but as someone who refuses to give Disney money I won't be playing it 😅

Good news for you, we'll have a TCG coming out that's similar to this in all the best ways, and you won't have to pay Disney anything to play it. ;)
