I will be ordering one, not sure I need the V3 as the biggest cartridge I use is .308 althought they do a riser for it as well if needed, the original knob would work fine but I guess the digital display combined with the speed controller electronics make it more consistent... seems like a great guy as well so would like to put business his way, nice honest review bud... I just got this version, but on research I found a flaw in the video. In a clarification video it stated "You do not want the flame to turn orange as this is metal burning off of your case". I see lots of videos on annealing but none clarify the correct judgement of when you have done it correct (Most just say it is done at this point).

My Intellidropper constantly drifts by a couple tenths of a grain, why? It drifted a full grain when I left it unattended for a few hours. Does anyone else have this experience or know how to keep it from drifting. BTW, there are no wind currents in my reloading area that would cause the scale to drift.

So just wondering. When you pour the powder in the hopper. How many charges do you run off to get the powder to settle before you start taking weights for consistency?

With this type of machine you don't have to worry about melting rotating drums when you're doing short brass like 300 blackout or 221 fireball but the drawback is you have to load each one manually. I am going to make one.

When do we get a charge master lite vs new rcbs match master video?
@ronsorrentino6207
@ronsorrentino6207 3 ай бұрын
It’s stainless steel and aluminum. You don’t need to run them again to put a sharpie mark on your brass. Just use the bottom hole and mark them (mainly for people who want to make sure they get their fire formed brass back) and do it while you’re annealing. If you’re hearing them to where the glow or heat gets as low as the bottom sharpie hole, you’re hearing your brass way too much. lol

Definitely made life easier. Your instructions were easy, especially pulling the strap through the keeper. The MAGPUL instructions, either the included or the KZbin instructions, are close to useless. Enjoyed your sense of humor also. Being a Yank but having lived for 35 years in Virginia, I found your accent was a bit of 'down home.'

I have an AP, too. I had a similar issue. What I did was take the indexing divots on the plate and put a “comet trail” with a ball mill on a Dremel tool. It allowed a gradual slide into index and gets rid of the jarring.

Biggest part for me enjoying a progressive press is for processing my brass for competition. For loading, I’m not concerned about speed. Dandy little funnel holder you have there. That’s smart. I do mine with an old-style funnel with my brass on a tray and sear while my SuperTrickler makes the next round’s charge.

Excellent informative comparison. I use a chargemaster lite and back it up with a RCBS balance beam. Wish the CM was a tad faster. I find myself waiting for it to finish up. Also, I need to let the CM warm up. If not it the zero can wander a tenth or two. Agree that round count is unnecessary and about as useless as the strobe function on a flashlight.

For pistol calibers especially, add the Hornady PDX powder tube (rcbs may offer a version, too). It replaces the lower powder drop tube and expanded the case mouth at the same time case is charged. There is also an external travel stop to add to the linkage for this. A bit fiddly to get set up initially, they work very well.

@stricklyreloading8494
@stricklyreloading8494 6 ай бұрын
They are both nice machines. My advice would be if you weren’t doing high volume annealing (such as just doing your hunting ammo or whatnot) go with the AGS because it takes up so little room. The Ugly Annealer really shines when you need to anneal high volumes of brass like for competition shooting.

This includes powder spillage as well. I stoppped using it, but maybe I'll clean it up and try it again. In your opinion, what is the best powder thrower you've measured?

I use the Lee drum with Hodgdon HP-38 and CFE pistol(both small ball powders) running 3-6 grains and it stays consistent from start and check after every 20-30 throws to +/- 0.02 grains, Nice to see further validation! And no leaking. On their website they have an upgrade package that includes the old hopper and improved riser, FYI.

I do pretty much the same thing though the difference is I use scoops for manual charges which is painful…. I haven’t made a decision yet on which powder dispenser to go with yet.. just can’t swallow the Fx-120 cost. If you did this process with the Hornady auto charge pro or rcbs Chargemaster do you think it would be similar speed? It seems like when you dump your powder the charge was ready and waiting for you, so it doesn’t seem like powder drops are the bottleneck, at least with the AT system that is.
@stricklyreloading8494
@stricklyreloading8494 7 ай бұрын
You most certainly could use a charge master or similar and accomplish the same thing. You are correct that it will probably slow you down about 10-15 seconds per round (from my experience with other dispenser systems vs the AutoTrickler). I would recommend trying the new ChargeMaster Supreme, as it has the “powder learning” feature that may help speed up the time.
