​@@spada60 Kawai is better for digital than yamaha. Their products are more premium and have a more realistic action, the yamaha cp88 action is better than Roland's rd2000 action. Good for REAL pianists, not those yiruma beetoven hip hop electronic artist plebians with 0 talent. Nord arguably has better sampled pianos than on yamahas stage piano. Basically no Kawai is sampled cause everyone says it's super similar to steinway, but there is a difference and I think it's slightly better, warmer and more full bodied. Kawai is the only brand other than Rhodes that truly feels like you're playing a Rhodes cause of the full acoustic action. Kawai is the only company with Rhodes quality, creating portable slabs like the MP11se and Vpc1. Only thing yamaha has is a better shorted action than Roland, arguably the best. Kawai is the only company making a full heavy as hell midi keyboard with their flagship digital action. Yamaha and Roland don't do that, they make shortened lighter versions for these stage pianos they made. Overall because of this Kawai is a better company for pianists who want the best of the best action and a more versitile sound. If I want the yamaha sound I just load up my Noire vst, if I wanted a secondary piano keybed that's in a lighter form factor, I'd get a yamaha cp88. I'd never ever sacrifice weight for keyboard action however, action is #1 priority, Kawai gives us that. They are the best for piano action period.

​​@@spada60 yamahas high end action is said to be heavier than realistic, kawais real grands are around 25% lighter cause of their carbon fiber and composite materials use. They'll also probably be the first to incorporate the action being lighter with the press of the dampener like a real piano, which is why even though the Kawai Vpc1 is still top 10 selling a decade later on all music sites for midi controllers, they still don't replace it. Yamaha has their n highest end digital line but that's wayyy more expensive. I'd still go Kawai MP11se successor mp12/vpc2 over the nx3 or whatever yamahas top model is called.

​​​​@@spada60 I'd rather get a montage m over a yc88, I think both the stage 4 wave yc88 aren't that good of instruments for studio use (what I use them for). I'd rather get korgs next flagship successor to the oasys. It would probably also be better for live than yamaha and nords stage pianos, only thing those have that montage and kronos don't have is the pianist keybed. Nord stage 4 SUCKS for pianists, so does the nord grand 2, the action for pianists specifically isn't as good OBJECTIVELY SPEAKING. Nord trades a good keybed for a better sound than what's on current hardware Synths. I am action over sound. I'd rather have the best action over anything else for that matter. And the fact Kawai gives you space LIKE RHODES to place another keyboard on top, true musicians instrument. Not that nord and nord clone and stage garbage. That's all marketing fluff.
