It was Independence Cup played at Chennai. I was 11year old then, watched in a black and white TV which had an antenna on roof. I cried a lot after loosing the match to Pakistan. My uncle (Mama) held me tight and condoled me telling "it is just a match My boy don't cry and enjoy the great batting of Mr Anwar." I could not appreciated his words then. Now, whenever I watch Anwar sir's 194 run innings I always spellbound and thanked him for this great innings. The innings always remembers me about my uncle because he passed away after 2 months at the age of just 28. He met with a train accident. I still miss him.

That day, he missed it....!! He got out in the 47th Over & he could have easily scored the first ever ODI Double hundred. People waited for 13 more years to see it after Sachin Tendulkar scored the first ever ODI double hundred in 2010 against South Africa. The pitch was flat and dead & I never saw someone hitting Anil Kumble like he did. But still the runrate was in control & not like today...
