@@lindsayiflyfish Been watching your channel for a long time now, and I have lost my mojo from time to time, I can catch fish, I use simple flies, getting to the point that being out on the river is the real key to a pleasant day.

Holy smokes i love ur accent my man. May i ask Where are u from? And super good lookin fly i like the hackle for the legs rather than the silly legs.

Grey thorax?
@HalfInsaneOutdoorGuy21 сағат бұрын
@lindsayiflyfish gray squirrel tail for the tail fibers. Hi dubbed the body in gray rabbits mask fur, and the thorax i usually use grey pheasant tail. But I may also use grey foam if I want it higher in the water, or put a bead on it and use thin skin, or just grey UV resin.

Here in utah on the Provo, the wildlife management nerds are practically begging people to keep fish under the 16-inch length. Everyone plays the catch and release game, and the bio availability is off balance enough that Every fall hundreds of browns starve to death. There are parts of the river where one can not see the river bottom through all of the dead. Quite sad. It's been this way for them past 3 years.

They have similar issues in Norway and insist on catch and kill in some places.

Rarely if ever that I use a whip finish tool I only bought one when I used to teach fly dressing and people would ask how to use it so I had to get one to show them,I prefer to do it by hand always have always will.👍
@lindsayiflyfishКүн бұрын
I only learned because of the KZbin tutorials. I had been happily using my hands before that.

Nothing more frustrating than getting to the head of a perfectly acceptable fly , you're just about to whip finish and snap!!! Very useful video, thanks. Tight lines 🎣

Great to hear a 'how to fish it' alongside the quick tie example. We could learn to tie a million different flies, but it's no use if we're just chucking them at the water willy-nilly.

Thanks, there is only so much information you can get across in 1 minute though. It’s a start 👍

Im still waiting on the damn rain.its killing me. We are getting SOME, just not enough to really reach an area thats not shoulder to shoulder. If you ever come back to the states and the conditions are right, youll have to let me show ya. The best part? Its not in Michigan.

I know we aught to know better. Lol. Oh don’t we wish nano silks and other modern threads were available soo much earlier. Just as with many other items and materials such as hi density foam, uv resin have made our hobby so much easier.

Hello Lindsay! You know what first drew me to watch the first video of yours. It was because my last name is the same as your first name even the spelling is the same lol. Who knew that I'd really love your videos and learn so much about fly tying from simply watching your videos for the last year lol. I especially like this video because I agree with you 200% about "using what you've got" to tie flies. Im disabled and on a fixed income so often I have to do exactly that. It took .e several months to save up enough to buy my first vice. I wanted a Renzetti Saltwater vice because I wanted a vice that could tie on small hooks for fresh water patterns and tie on really big hooks for tying really big salt water patterns. Thanks Lindsay!

Hi Lindsay. I have fished this beat and this film and others that you have made here have helped me to get to know it. Trying to fish and make a film at the same time is asking a lot of yourself. I have come to the conclusion that you really need to concentrate when you are euro nymphing and any distraction, like filming , will impair your performance. I'm sure you will return to form soon.

Nice fly Lindsay, early or late season I’ll reckon this will work on a fast sink line. As far as back drifting goes I personally would rather not, but as you say if you’re getting old and can’t be stripping blobs back all day then good luck to you, it’s better than not fishing at all. Cheers
