#3 was in a pretty similar bad state when Neil and I repaired it back in 2002. Sacrificed some parts from #700 to fix it. #700 had terminal hull rot as a previous owner had covered the outside of the hull with fiberglass so there was nowhere for any water absorbed to escape.

It looks like it had been used as a planter box. I hope they threw in the plants as well. But a fantastic restoration job and it is heartening to see one brought back.

What thickness is the bottom floor table you used? I have a similar problem.
@FREELOADERSS3 жыл бұрын
I think I used 5mm plywood for the floor, and replaced the battens inside to give it strength. All seems are glued and screwed, and fiberglassed over to keep it water tight, hope this helps 👍
@sergiodesiatotangodjandmus59683 жыл бұрын
@@FREELOADERSS thank you. Yes it help.the battens in my boat are nailed from the outside... is very difficult to remove them since the outside of the bottom is fiberglassed and is still in good condition with no holes. Was thinking to replace only the part of plywood rotten from the inside.

Fantastic job. I’m in the middle of a restoration and never having done much boating I was wondering how stable these boats are when used for fishing. The mention of capsize worries me. Ha ha

Hi Rodger, used mine quite a few times and never had any stability problems. That said, I only row or use a small outboard at low speeds, but it's great for fishing. Good luck with the restoration👍

A question, the drums, buckets, fulfill the function of flotation or is in case of emergency, I would like to know the answer. Thank you
@Pawdee4 жыл бұрын
It's back-up flotation to make sure the boat floats in the event that the bulkhead isn't watertight if the boat capsizes.
