When I was a Sophomore in HS in 2015, the Bluecoats stayed at my school for a few days during their tour while we were having band camp. I watched their rehearsals and was immediately hooked. 2016 was the first show I went to live, and I too have been hooked ever since

Congrats on that victory! I am currently a sophomore in high school that discovered drum corps in 7th grade and I'm hoping to try this out and hopefully make it one day. Thank y'all for being my inspiration, especially when I saw DCI for the first time in Murfreesboro. Bloooo!!

Since you heard it live, what do you say Ben... were they as strong as 2016? I heard a lot of similarity in sound quality and that "machine" sound when blending the full hornline. Wish I could have seen the show live this year but life said thou shalt not. Thanks for sharing!

I occasionally come back to watch this video, I remember going to a DCI show back in highschool and this show was my first experience to DCI. I really wanted to get bettter and join a DCI band myself, but unfortunately, that dream is long gone. Due to complications of my highschool and other parts of my life, I'll unfortunately never be able to experience the joy and fun of being a part of a DCI level band. This video is probably the closest I could ever get to feeling what it's like. 7 years later, thanks for the awesome performance, Ben.

I just noticed that. In high school I lost my grip on my slide in 7th position. It slid off into dirt. I spent an hour hosing it out, then hosing it out some more, then getting it back into playing condition. Band director screaming at me the entire time.

Ben, I know since this is like 7 years old so you probably won't see this, but as a snare player, you have got to be my favorite trumpet of all time, from your opener solo in Tilt to your flugelhorn (i think flugelhorn) solo in the ballad in 2016, it's all just absolutely golden. also on a completely unrelated note, nobody talks about how absolutely amazing the part at 12:24 sounds, i have no idea what it's technically called since i'm a snare but it just sounds. SO. GOOD.
@UnknownSpooky5 ай бұрын
If you're talking about the trombones, it's called a glissando!
