I started making the squares for the cardigan. I’m going to try and make one to fit me since I usually wear a 1x-2x in tops. Hoping I’ll be able to figure out how many squares to make to enlarge the pattern. This is the first time I’m ever attempting to make something to wear. Before this project I just crocheted blankets and amigurumi toys for kids.
@prettyinpate2 күн бұрын
oh wow, thats amazing! i'd recommend making the tall version in the pattern for 1x-2x - before doing any edging i would try it on and see how it fits.

@prettyinpate2 күн бұрын
awwww yay! that's so exciting! I used big twist party yarn (by JoAnn) in the color prism. Sadly that yarn line is discontinued the last time i checked 😭 hoping it makes a come back soon.
@karensemones7784Ай бұрын
I love all of them. All of those commenters who say that you charge too much should make their own. I am sure the quality of your work is much better. Being a crocheter and knitter for 60 years, I know how much time it takes and how expensive the yarn is to make even just a simple blanket. You are making designer quality jackets. Those people who design gowns for movie stars get a lot more for one of their dresses and most are hideous looking. Keep your head up and ignore the negative comments. You are a beautiful person and thank you for all your excellent videos teaching us how to make quality items. May God continue to bless you in using your talents.
@prettyinpateАй бұрын
Wow!🥹🥹 Thank you so so much Karen 💓 you literally just made my heart so happy! And oh my gosh 60 years that's amazing! I've only been crocheting for 12-ish years🫣 I hope you are still knitting & crocheting, I find it therapeutic 🫶🏼

@@prettyinpate I am but I have to limit my time because I have arthritis in my wrists and I now have cataracts but they aren't to the stage where they can be removed. I crochet and knit blankets for Hospice patients since I am retired and they provide the yarn. I like to listen to audiobooks while working on my projects. You do excellent work for only crocheting that short amount of time.

It’s soo beautiful, but it was a genuine *gut punch* seeing $400+ 😭 I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to own one.. Not that I don’t have the money - I just have a hard time spending that much on any one clothing item. Especially one I’m scared is gonna get all frizzy & frayed with love and wear 😔 (You can see this happening on the pink one you love/wear a lot in other videos) I’m not even sure how to properly clean it.. Is it a dry cleaner only situation? I’m happy for anyone that can support a mother’s small business/artistry 💞😊 I don’t know how long it genuinely takes you to make a scrappi..? But I feel like if you cut that price in half you would quadruple your sales? (Please understand I’m not trying to discredit your hard work 🫶🏻 Just giving some valuable customer feedback)
@prettyinpateАй бұрын
Love the feedback!🩷 And totally understand where you are coming from. (side note: the pink one is actually *fuzzy* hehe, its the type of yarn used to make it. It has that super soft feeling to it like those extra soft blankets) Since i know there might be other curious... Here is the breakdown 🫣 It takes me about 30-ish hours from start to finish to complete a cardigan. if we divide the price it's listed for to 30 hours, then i'm essentially getting paid $14/hour. But the price also includes material costs & shipping (with insurance) - so realistically i'm making less than $14/hr. yes! totally - with time & natural wear the garment will pill/frizz/matte over time - but that's what makes it so unique (personal opinion). They can be machine washed & dried but i recommend hand washing/soaking when need be to extend the *lifetime* & laying flat to dry. Can also dry clean. & not to worry i don't take your comment as a discredit at all. It's hard for people (even myself included) to understand handcrafted items & their prices - sometimes i catch myself doing the same thing. I wish i could make them as quickly as people want to buy them for half the price - but realistically that's not possible 🙃

@@prettyinpate Great feedback! 😊 Thank you for being patient, and responding in such a kind way 💞 Some people get _really_ bent out of shape 😳🫣 Just know if I ever get to the point money isn’t an object, I’m totally buying the earth toned one 😁🤎

Can you do one backwards lol. I almost think it looks cooler/more like an eye with the white side out 🙃 (weird ik)
