I struggled with sweeping for a while until I started using a metronome. I noticed that when using a metronome it kinda forces you to have better technique really with everything. I put in the 4-8 hour days for years before and after starting to use a metronome and also backing tracks and the time before was almost a waste in a sense because the 3 years prior I could have done in half the time.
