I have a Kenwood TS-570D with a Signalink USB sound card adapter. I originally used this setup with WSJT-X and after watching some You Tube videos I got it set up working fine with FT-8. Then I downloaded FLDIGI and FLRIG and got it working on PSK-31 with basically the same setup (rig and Signalink) and it works good, but the problem is that when I transmit, the Signalink keys the transmitter, but there is no audio to drive the power, but after 1 or 3 tries, the audio comes out and drives the TS-570 to power out. The frustration is the randomness of this problem. I can make a qso and have the problem almost every time I transmit, then sometimes it will work fine for a few tries and then go back to no transmit. Once the audio comes out, it will last for the whole conversation, until I turn it back to the other guy. As I stated in the beginning, this same setup works fine with WSJT-X with the same cables connected to my same HP computer, Signalink and rig. I tried adjusting the sound levels in my laptop, in FLRIG, FLDIGI and on the Signalink, but the problem stays the same. Running Windows 11 on the laptop. Any ideas??? I just downloaded HRD free version and it seems to be working OK with this same setup, although I have not had a qso with it yet.

I tried using it once in the past. I found the screens to dense and could not zoom in and what freq to go for what modes it presented and have not used it since. extremely dislike it for those reasons. Needs to be simpler and more intuitive.

All that time and you didn’t click on any links so that we could hear what it sounded like. How many people can listen ? How many people can talk on a particular echo link repeater ? Do all persons on an echo link repeater hear you regardless of having a computer ?
@ve1xop
@ve1xop 6 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching. That's correct I did not click on any links or share any connections. The video was an overview of the software. 7 years back I did't have the ability to have audio from the system to the screen recording software, along with concerns that some people become sensitive being shared on a video. (but I agree with you it would have been nice to have...7 years back this was a Windows XP recording...) Per your questions. Each Node has a limit to amount of the connections, depends on the node/ repeater used. This would be the same for your next question. From my experience I have never been with another person on a node/ repeater at the same time. Echolink is only a gateway via the internet to connect to a terrestrial repeater. For more information you can visit: www.echolink.org/faq.htm /// As for a better video with actual LIVE action -- that's in the works.. As for a conference room with up to 99 stations -- please read: www.echolink.org/conf.htm

I just started using fldigi/flrig and got most everything working. Except for the logging features. I'm isomg my log program. DXKeeper - a very good piece of software. It integrates with LoTW and eQSL o I don;t need fldigi to do that integration. The problem is I am not able to get fldigi to update DXKeeper with each contact. It is quite annoying to have to export (from fldigi) and then import to DXKeeper. I sort of want to operate DXKeeper in real[time with fldigi, much the same way I can use wsjt-x with this log program.

Question: What freqs where can I find RTTY and other modes such as Olivia? I can't find anything but FT8 which dominates. Please make a video on the Freqs, Sounds, and Mode settings (such as Data-U Mode, etc). Does anyone successfully use FLdigi for CW? (I have given up on HRD, which I have used for years but Windows 11 seems to conflict. About 6 Techs have tried to keep it working and it keeps failing after Windows updates. So, I am moving to FLdigi and Logging with N3FJP.)

Hi, great question. Myself, I'm typically on 20M. And from 14070 to 14110 -- I have heard stations, this includes RTTY & Olivia. Yes, seems FT8 has truly become the leader in the parade. BUT, if you want -- we could sched a contact from here in Nova Scotia (email:[email protected]) // Per FLDIGI, I've used every mode available, the program works great.. the only items is the set-up and making connect to all rigs, that seems the challenge. I run HRD on my Windows 10 & 11 machine, but in a virtual box, which works very well -- I could do a video to explain how to make this work. I also run XP on a virtual box.. and now I'm running DOS applications in Windows 10 & 11 & 7 and XP..... I will be adding some videos on some legacy DOS applications in the future. BUT thank you per the "Please make a video on the Freqs, Sounds, and Mode settings (such as Data-U Mode, etc)" -- I have added your suggestion to my project list system. And as for your CM need, yes it works + there other programs that hit it on the nail also with less set-up process. Again - if you care to connect, drop me an email or watch out for the NEW videos!

Visit: rosmodem.wordpress.com/ and then scroll down the page... look for "ROS v7.4.0 (Weak Signal Radio Chat)" or do a text search on the mentioned page. There will be a link to a Mega download, the author has chosen to offer the software through this method. I did a test today.. and it downloads. I know some people reported the link was not working, I assume there maybe a limit per the requests as its a free file host. Thank you for asking.

After watching all 3 of your videos I still don't know how to view or decode anything. I'm not trying to put you down or discourage you and I'd be extremely grateful if you could make a video showing how to decode something. It doesn't have to be all encompassing, just seeing someone operate this tool in any fashion would be really great.

I am a few steps ahead on that comment. I agree, screen-casting has it's limits and your feedback, is KEY for what is needed or wanted. I'm creating a video with combo with a camera and screencasting - so it's simple enough to receive at 1st, cause really -- all you need is a receiver and feed the audio into your computer to decode any of the sounds... I do have suggestions on Hardware for people that want to use the full features of this software. Since that last video -- It has been crazy busy here.. so I'm getting back into the swing to make more content + yes thank you for being direct! 73's - Sean VE1XOP

You can do this 100%. You just need to feed audio into your computer, typical some people just use a mic to avoid overloading the audio card or if you know how to connect audio out to the audio in of your pc/ laptop (user discretion.. you need to be careful with the audio input, suggest a mic and you will be fine.) -- I use a mixing board to control the audio. The other option is to record the digital transmission and you would be able to decode the mp3 file.

I have been able to configure flrig after a fashion but can't get the two softwares to work together. I have seen another video by a fellow ham whos name escapes me for the moment. His video talks about some of the difficulties getting fldigi to work. He goes on to explain how to set up flrig with cwscimer. I am re entering ham radio after a 25 year sabbatical. Things have moved on so far since I first dabbled with digital in the form of rtty and packet radio. Is that even a thing these days? hello, This is very interesting and a great video! I did a search on ROS based on an article found on the web while searching meaning of various digital signals found on SDR. I downloaded the software, connected my FT-817 but it would not connect and seemed to run on its own. Doing more research about this realized it was working from the internet! Then you confirmed it in your video, thanks. Started up the program and did not seem to look like the one in your video and says it is v4.5.5 and connects with NOCALL-1 is this correct? I can see the waterfall but don't see signals and also as shown on your video seems to be missing those send and receive windows? All I see are the VU which is seeing audio, CPU showing 12% usage a DATA block AFC and a S/N monitors that don't seem to be doing anything. I searched to check if there were other versions but could not find any. So my question is, 1 why does my version look different from yours? Why are there no message bars shown at the top? It's not clear to me about the "Links" stations. If I connect to one and there is a net going on, then can I hear all the net activity even if I don't want or can't check into that net at the time I am listening? Is that right?
