My tulsi beads are not finished properly many are neat round ones but some are not finished properly they are like half bowls can i use them?

@@AkankshaS-jt9nw It's a personal choice. When including 'defective' beads you could scatter them throughout the mala, rather than adding them all together. I thread all the beads onto the string first and then tie the knots. Once they're on the thread you'll see if the holes are drilled in the middle, compare bead sizes etc. Any you don't want can be broken off with pliers prior to knotting. Hopefully this helps for next time! 🙏

@InnerEyeYogaProducts 🙏 I am not asking for making mala sorry. I am asking because I bought new tulsi mala while buying it was was in sealed cover so i couldn't check. Now while doing japa i saw some beads are like bowls(half of full bead) so i dont want any dosha from japa in wrong beads. I am already suffering.

@@AkankshaS-jt9nw Yes, I understand. It's very rare that a mala like that has 108+1 good beads. If you want to make a good mala, buy 2x malas and use the best beads.

You are the Master of this technique!! I have found 20 ways to do it wrong, couldn't get my fingers and thumbs to work. 😵💫I slowed it down and got it...but had odd results with loose knots, then I practiced "untying" knots. I went back to your method of bringing the next bead forward and that helped me very much! So tighter knots are easier now! Thank you for your patient teaching and helping me by using the "slow down" the feed button in settings. There is something very special and tactile about using this method and the cotton floss, the mala prays easier and it just collapses into a soft pile. I've also learned patience, being kind to myself, allowing myself to make a mistake, undo it and start again. I've tried forcing the knot by 'double down" tightening, when it is wrong, and leaves a gap. Duh! These are VERY difficult to untie 🧐Now I bead to Hari Om ... Tat Sat by Meditative Mind and relax. It's so much easier than forcing the river and the results are lovely and I'm at peace. Thank you for teaching me all these life lessons too. They help me to tie and untie the knots in my own life as well. ❣❣❣Self forgiveness, love, patience and peace within.

Thank you! What are your thoughts on the different styles with the sections (e.g., japa vs. zen)?
@InnerEyeYogaProducts8 ай бұрын
My personal preference is a light-medium weight mala, where all beads are the same size (7-9mm) and texture with knots between each bead. Alternating beads of the same size, like Rudraksha/Crystal also works for me, as there is consistency and regularity, so the mala doesn’t distract. Loosely strung malas (without knots) can also work fine when strung at the correct tension. A mala is down to personal taste and tradition. Some practices require marker beads or extra tassels along the mala. Some people just want a mala to wear. Each mala can be perfect for a persons needs at that time. Hope that answers your question?

This really is the best method for getting a nice symmetrically globular knot that doesn't have the little pointy irregularities in them that make the knot lopsided and, thus, they don't sit squarely in the hole in the bead. Most of the bead knotting tutorials on here are for extremely much finer synthetic, practically invisible, knotting threads for beads with much smaller holes than the wooden beads and traditional mala designs use. The result of those other knotting techniques produce something that you can't see, between the beads, how the knot, even with a knotting tool, is lopsided, because it's so small. Those same knotting techniques, even with good silk cord, produce lopsided knots. The knots themselves are actually part of Inner Eye's more traditional design for malas and natural materials add to how a mala feels when you use it. My only personal concern is being limited to a white, contrasty, knotting color, so I'm thinking about how to match the color of wooden beads closer by dying Brahmin cotton cord with tea or coffee. I tried a lot of different methods and came back to the first and best tutorial I watched. Thank you for your guidance.

Thanks for your comments. It was just 'chance' that the tutorial was made using white thread, as I use a wide range of coloured cotton and polyester threads when required for smaller holes or wrist malas for added strength. You'll be able to find excellent quality embroidery cotton pre-dyed in your preferred colour. But, maybe you'd also like the challenge of dying it naturally etc. Glad you enjoyed the tutorial 🙏
