@@yuuchan97 Thanks for highlighting and read some reviews from others online who are facing the same issue. The respond is that to book the hike via their official website (visithalla.jeju.go.kr), one needs to be in Korea to access this site. Another alternative is to use VPN. I've yet to verify if this is true, because I don't have VPN. If you have a VPN, you can try to set to South Korea and see if it works. Let us know if it does.

Thank you for sharing your Mt. Hallasan ascent and descent treks! Both of these will help us when we go to Mt. Halla next month. I particularly liked your insights about hiking and life. Like you, hiking in nature allows me moments of self-reflection and time to connect with myself in a deeper way. 😊 May I ask how you got from the Gwaneumsa Trail back to Seogwipo? You mentioned that you will also have that information at the end of your descent video. We will also be coming from a hotel into Seogwipo and doing both trails like you did so getting back to the city after finishing is a concern for me. Thank you for your reply. Continue to hike, travel and enjoy!
@travelwithme.rolandАй бұрын
Thanks for your kind words and encouragement. I took a bus from Gwaneumsa Trail Entrance back to Seogwipo. You can use Naver Map to help pinpoint which bus to take. You can copy and paste the Korean name of the place (in Seogwipo you are heading to for more accuracy). Here's an example: map.naver.com/p/directions/14086145.55902,3947294.9275512,한라산국립공원관음사탐방로,31390247,PLACE_POI/14088571.0882729,3929056.9656713,서귀포시청%20제1청사,11621231,PLACE_POI/-/transit?c=10.71,0,0,0,dh I don't understand Korean language, so I use Google Translate. I hope this helps. Do remember to make a reservation (booking) in advance before you go. On peak season, it may be fully booked. - visithalla.jeju.go.kr/main/main.do All the best and enjoy your hike :)

I spent first days in Seongsan Ilchulbong to hike the Sunrise peak early the next morning, subsequent few days in Seogwipo and last few days in Jeju City. Ur plan sounds good! With the last few days in Jeju City, it is easier to get back to airport on the last day also. Do check out the Dongmun Market :)

Many thanks for your videos!! really helpful! , can you share your experience after the hiking? is it really tiring? I have an event in Jeju, i am planning whether I can hike before the day of the event.
@travelwithme.roland7 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for your encouragement. It is hard to answer your question because it is subjective to individual. So just sharing from my point of view, it was tiring but still manageable (can walk but muscle aching) . Perhaps, just note it will take 8-9hrs to hike up and down. There are two routes, the Seongpanak trail is easier if you really consider trying (can see my previous vid). Gwaneumsa Trail (in this vid) is tougher because the steps are steeper.

I think if u set apart 8-9hours for the ascend and descend. It will be optimal to start between 6-7am from the trail entrance. Suppose if you rent a car and is planning to start and end at the same trail entrance, this means you can afford to reach earlier (i.e. at 6am). But I took bus, so I could only start at 7am. Hope this helps :)

@travelwithme.roland7 ай бұрын
it depends I guess. I think there will be some periods where more people will climb (i.e. weekends, or over public holidays). It will be ideal to book in advance before your trip, just to be sure you reserved your slot :)

If you can drive, it will be faster to cover more grounds and you get to explore more, especially if you only have a few short days in Jeju. If you have more time, taking bus is a meaningful way to explore the island at a slower pace. I will be editing my next video soon for instructions of renting car in Jeju :)

It is really up to you (to stay at Seogwipo city (the the south if you like). With 4 days, you can consider staying 2 nights at Seogwipo city (South) and the last 2 days at Jeju City (North). It is more practical and convenient to travel to the airport on your last day if you are at Jeju City. :)

Are the stops displayed on screen in the bus or announced? I can read Hangul and speak a bit Korean, but Listening Comprehension is difficult. I am watching your videos with interest these days. I will go to Jeju in May and try to prepare extra well beacuse I travel wiith my Mom. We want to visit many places you have been too. Unfortunately I lack the courage to "embrace what ever comes along". So I am spending days over Maps. Maybe when I have travelled more often I can be more spontaneous, too..

Hi, it is displayed on the screen but I can't remember if they announced it. It is in Korean so it may be hard to understand. When on bus, I will always turn on my Naver Maps with my phone to track my location. It is generally accurate, you can see all the bus stops on the route and where you are, so you will miss your stop. I hope this helps. :)
