[Korea Travel Guide] Descending Mount Hallasan via Gwaneumsa Trail at Jeju Island I Walk with Me!

Hello friends,
Join me in my descend hike from Mount Hallasan Summit via the Northwards trail towards Gwaneumsa Trail Entrance. You will get to see how the entire trail look like in this video and learn some useful tips and things to note if you wish to also hike this highest mountain in Korea located at the heart of Jeju Island.

Hi, thanks for your encouragement. It is hard to answer your question because it is subjective to individual. So just sharing from my point of view, it was tiring but still manageable (can walk but muscle aching) . Perhaps, just note it will take 8-9hrs to hike up and down. There are two routes, the Seongpanak trail is easier if you really consider trying (can see my previous vid). Gwaneumsa Trail (in this vid) is tougher because the steps are steeper.

I think if u set apart 8-9hours for the ascend and descend. It will be optimal to start between 6-7am from the trail entrance. Suppose if you rent a car and is planning to start and end at the same trail entrance, this means you can afford to reach earlier (i.e. at 6am). But I took bus, so I could only start at 7am. Hope this helps :)

Appreciated your sharing on the detailed hiking at both trails. We are planning to hike there in Aug too. If we park at the eastern trail , are there taxi available when we exit at Gwaneumsa trail ?

It may be hard for get taxi after you exit the trail. There are buses available, it may take some time to wait for the bus to come. Yet it is a feasible option. I waited around 30min

Hi in reply to getting taxi exit point at Gwaneumsa trailhead. We booked a taxi through Kakao T apps ( back to seonpanek where we parked our vehicle ~KW$15 ) . Hiked hallasan in mid August , hot weather but clear view from summit.

I took bus back. You can check using Naver Map to see which bus route is the faster
