At first, I felt that for these videos to showcase that I can indeed do his techniques with respect to him, I didn't want to overstep. However... I am considering uploading a version of these videos with my twist and or style on them. All in all, it's a little Grey with what's too far and what's not. Growls? Vocal fry? Power metal? I can do these techniques, however... I felt fans really want to know if Fane can be honored (not replaced)

I have considered doing "my" style. However, there's a lot of Grey area. Vocal fry, Growl, more power, power metal? It, to me, is difficult to determine without some guidance and i only feel this way because ultimately I wanted to show that WD COULD be honored (not replaced) by someone who can respect his techniques which are unique. I have been considering uploading a "my" style of these songs...

@ Don’t take offense to this, but if your style is screamo cookie monster, please don’t. Not as an “audition”, at least. When I say, make it your own, personally, I don’t mean make it into something it’s not, and Warrel Dane was not that. I hate that that’s what Loomis has been doing this whole time since NM disbanded originally.

@bradchristy8429 lol my style is melodeath for my project but how could I not take offense to all you've said? Classic case of "you can't win them all" but luckily you aren't the one making choices. I can do power metal, prog, death, thrash, because I enjoy challenging myself to learn different styles on guitar and vocals. Feel free to listen, it's in the hyper links but yep. Also, I would never disrespect WD by making Nevermore into something it is not if it were up to me. But even if I get the gig, it is Loomis's and Williams's band and I would honor them, WD, and fans by keeping it true. Cheers once again.

@ I meant no offense. I think you sounded great in this video, even if I thought it sounded forced. My comment was to indicate that, if that’s your style, my suggestion is to take it to where that style fits. Personally, it’s not my thing, and I always appreciated that WD stopped short of it. I would say the same thing to Roy Kahn if he were to submit an audition video, and he’s the apex of metal vocals, if you ask me. I’d suggest he keep true to himself and go to where his style is appropriate. By all means, you do you, because that’s where you’re going to excel. I seriously doubt that Loomis and Williams are going to settle on a death metal (or anything similar) vocalist for the revival of NM. If they were going to do that, they’d have probably just formed a new band together. There’s nobody who would care that wouldn’t recognize them for who they are and buy in, just because.
