why wing wall not shown

The wing walls are provided where there is soil to be retained or road is at an elevation from the ground. Otherwise it is not needed. But good idea - We will consider creating video of such scenario.

tanx! would you consider... ActCAD CAD-software ... "BIM"? That Company offers a "BIM"-version, but I'm not sure about any of it, except...44-years of 2D-CAD residential stuff :-))) tanx for your opinion!! sub'd/liked ))) btw...ActCAD is GREAT & Affordable, for my architectural Planwork. For that, ONLY the 2D Permit Drawings are my true $$$-makers!! The rest is...ahemmm..."eyewash". BUT...maybe "BIM" is what I NOW need, for better Planwork?? Hmmmm???....
@engineeringbreakdown6 ай бұрын
As per my understanding, the model created in Act CAD have intelligent features and the elements know what they are e.g. wall beam or slab. However, since this model cant be sent to other software like for clash detection and does not allow MEP and other departments to collaborate - its not a true BIM experience yet. May be software is in a very early stage. Secondly, Definitely, the future is BIM because it already has changed how work is done in the field. Learning BIM shall be very beneficial to add to the portfolio.

What’s the benefit of corner column? I mean in what type of building or structure is needed?
@engineeringbreakdown6 ай бұрын
A corner column is provided where there is possibility of providing a centered or edge column. For example, if a house/building is present next to another already constructed building then there is no option other than to provide a corner column for the new building.

why is the splicing in the same place? from what i know. the splicing should not be place in the same location. ex. if the vert. rebars is 8 pieces. the splicing the should only be 4 pieces on one location. and the other 4 splicing is located to the next upper location.
@engineeringbreakdown6 ай бұрын
You are right but it might not be absolutely necessary in every single case to stagger rebar splices, staggering splices helps prevent the creation of weak points in the structure.

Although it's a good practice to do so, however , it is mostly not done for columns in the real field unless the reinforcement spacing is hindering the pouring of concrete.
