Thank you! Thank you! I needed this just now. I wept from the opening notes. The clear voice, the blending harmonies, the echo, everything. I needed this. THANK YOU!

The "ethereal," fluid quality of this piece "warms my heart" -- in a way no popular music could.

Great hymn. Love it. However, it is just me?? I feel the director is rushing and pushing the choir the entire time. Unfortunately it sacrifices the peacefulness........

I see what you mean. She begins and ends with a slower tempo than the rest of the song. When I experienced the song for the first time, it unleashed a flood of tears for my father who passed in 2022, so I was unable to appreciate your observation. Now that I have heard it several times, and my emotional reaction is more controlled, I can see how the change in tempo can be distracting. However, I am still on the hunt for a full version of this hymn, and also the vocals are heavenly. So I have concluded that I will keep listening to this version.

Someone's reharmonised the opening four lines (once we're in full harmony). Why would anyone want to change what Sibelius wrote? (Unless there's another harmonisation by Sibelius that I don't know about.

This hymn is featured today, March 10, in Robert Morgan's inspiring book, A Song in My Heart, featuring "366 devotions from our best-loved hymns". What a beautiful arrangement and singing, thank you and God bless!

Thankyou. My aunt, a soprano, sang this at my father's funeral, and I was so grief stricken that day that it's taken me six years to find out what she sang and seek it out. It's very emotional hearing this for the first time since then, but it's perfect, tonally and lyrically, for those in the throes of grief.

I feel you. I saw this for the first time about a week ago and just wept for my dad who passed in 2022. I still cry when I see this again, but not as long or as hard.

This is my all-time favorite hymn. Our family is dealing with the passing of a grandson and the parents are desperately searching for solace. This hymn has always given me peace and comfort. I gave his parents this to listen to and possibly help in this moment. May God bless your ministries. Thank you.
