This is my all-time favorite hymn. Our family is dealing with the passing of a grandson and the parents are desperately searching for solace. This hymn has always given me peace and comfort. Thankyou. My aunt, a soprano, sang this at my father's funeral, and I was so grief stricken that day that it's taken me six years to find out what she sang and seek it out. It's very emotional hearing this for the first time since then, but it's perfect, tonally and lyrically, for those in the throes of grief.

Someone's reharmonised the opening four lines (once we're in full harmony). Why would anyone want to change what Sibelius wrote? (Unless there's another harmonisation by Sibelius that I don't know about.

Great hymn. Love it. However, it is just me?? I feel the director is rushing and pushing the choir the entire time. Unfortunately it sacrifices the peacefulness........
