Discovered you channel when I search BernT vintage stockings my MIL started knitting a similar patternn in the 1950’s She made them for everyone in the family ( it’s the Santa motif pattern. She has since passed on but I’m the only knitter in the family so I was given the original pattern and charts it is all taped together and pretty fragile I have now made 5 and making another one for my granddaughter her great granddaughter She made over 25 for each family member. I do mine with circular needles but it is fun watching you use the original instructions I start always in July so they are finished for gifting around thanksgiving 12:53 . Thanks for your videos

The last time I flew with my crochet projects was back in June 2016, from Baltimore, Maryland, to Toronto, Canada. I was making hats for charity. I had a few crochet hooks and a pair of Fiscars kids safety scissors. No problems on either of my trip.

Not sure if this is an update since this video came out, but circular thread cutters are actually specifically prohibited in carry-on luggage: www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/sewing-needles

No. He used to travel a lot when he was a businessman and before 9/11 we were able to walk through the airport with him. After 9/11 all the airport security changed, and we were no longer allowed to walk around the airport with him.

They are honestly the exercise foam floor squares/mats from Costco 😅 it was cheaper than buying a bunch of little ones from amazon that are specifically for knitting and crocheting.

Thank you for the tips! I'm looking into the bag, but it seems to measure more than the requirement for personal items in terms of fitting in the front of the seat (I'm flying United). Just looking at the dimensions, I'm slightly worried there. What airlines have you used before with the bag please?
@hookemcreations8 ай бұрын
I have flown American, United, and Alaskan with my Leudes bag. Depending on what seat you have (aisle, center, or window) the designated spot for personal items will differ in size. I find that the aisle seat tends to be smaller than the other seats. But it’s still manageable.

Thanks for the review. I've been wrestling with this yarn too, and found that changing crochet hooks towards the end of the square helps me complete the colors correctly. Agree that you're trading one inconvenience (ends) for another (tension changes). And as another commenter said, skein is pronounced "skane." Thanks! I'll come back to your channel!!

Thanks for your honest review. Because of arthritis in my fingers, I do not make small granny squares any more. Still I have been interested in this yarn...I have been making a double crochet blanket...the pattern from Pretty Peaceful ...I have not had splitting, and am enjoying the color changes. I do understand your frustrations with the yarn...I am using a 6.5 resin hook...and am looking forward to my new blanket! Nonie Lee...

Yours look so nice compared to mine! (Same colorway). I had to go up like3 hook sizes and crochet so loose for the colors to match up

I have inhereted yarn and the colors dont go together😂. Tiny balls of yarn too. I haven't had to buy new yarn ever. All the people in my life that crocheted either gave up crocheting and gave me their yarn or ended up with carpletunnel syndrome and couldnt anymore and gave me their yarn. It went from a leaf bag full to a small tote full. Im still working on several projects.

I’m stupid obsessed with this yarn. I think I got 6 of all but a couple colors. $5.70 from Joann Fabric. Loving it! I also successfully made the sunburst granny square as well as the African flower. You just need to take the time to plan it out and watch tension

@rinabobina99059 ай бұрын
I’m assuming you’re a little girl from your posted videos. She is saying this because people still buy those cheap crocheted items, which means they’re accidentally supporting bad things happening to the people who make them. If you know this, that’s great. A lot of people don’t, not because they’re dumb, but because they haven’t been taught about it before.
@basicallyme.9 ай бұрын
@@rinabobina9905 I mean a lot of people know but they don't care. realistically why would someone pay more for something if they could get it for cheaper, especially if they can't afford it for a higher price
@rinabobina99059 ай бұрын
@@basicallyme. Sure, I get that. I'm on a limited budget myself, I can only pay so much for groceries, clothes, transportation... but it's important to talk about the human and environmental cost of non-essential luxuries/trivial things to bring more awareness. Does anyone need a crochet pickle for $5? No, but people think it's cute and that they might as well get it, because it's just $5, not fully realizing they're supporting someone unethically sourcing labor and materials and taking advantage of other people. OP is not just saying "buy it for more from craftspeople and spend more money!!", she is saying that supporting these dropshipped items because "it's cheap and I don't care" has a real dark side to it that people aren't taking seriously because "it's a crocheted pickle, it's just a cute item from Temu".
