This is sad to watch because he had HIV here but likely didn’t know it. He said he got it from somebody in the military which was 1987-1990.

I Think I hear elements of Bruno Mars "Finesse" in this song. I wouldn't be surprised if his composition was influenced by this song.

We used to travel from North Georgia to Battlecreek Michigan where Kathy is from, to sing. Our church praise team sang in the Kelloggs Auditorium back in the mid 90's.

I could write a book on all the stuff from this video! So glad to see this..... I put this on to have in the background while I did chores. Alas, I was glued to the entire thing, LOL.... It was fun to go back in time... I may add more comments here based on different facets of this video... I had forgotten about the song from "Andre".... I love that one...... I never knew Tyler was a writer of that Celine Dion song that you mentioned... That is one of my favorites when I put on the "unison" album.... Good to see you back. Is that "radio remix" of Linda Clifford's "Whatcha gonna do" like the club mix or is it more R&B? Gold Karat was set up for that release and according to Discogs there is a remix in 1995 as well.

It's basically a shorter version of the club mix. Yes, there was a 12" with new mixes that came out in '95. None of them stood out to me at the time. I'll see if I can dig it up and listen again. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@retrorhythms I think I'll pass on acquiring it then as it really wasn't my taste. I have much of what you covered on promo cds which I've bought over the last 5-6 years through Discogs. I was an avid radio listener in the NYC market but didn't start collecting until 1996 and then singles weren't my focus unless I remembered the mix was different from the album.

@@Jarrettsjams well that's the thing... since it was part of WB, I'm not sure. But I'd heard that she worked with him at that time. There aren't credits on the advance album. I guess a good ear might offer perspective. :)
