The title should be "When Johnny Comes Marching Home", an old civil war marching tune from 1863. Jimmy Smith first recorded it in 1960 for the album, Crazy! Baby.

The real Jimmy rarely used the fast speed on the leslie. Mostly slow and off

Nope! That is not THE Jimmy Smith aka James Oscar Smith! Perhaps his son.

I am not familiar with this relatively new artist Jimmie Smith. I remember the original Jimmy Smith rocking the Hammond B3 back in the day. Woodward Avenue Records was founded several years after the original Jimmy Smith passed.

There were others but Jimmy was the main man bringing the B3 from the church to the jazz clubs and influenced so many music genres in doing so. Thank you, Jimmy! Nothing sounds like the 1930's tone wheel. Thank you, Laurens Hammond.

Jimmy would not share his registrations. But, people figured it out by trial and error. Great clip, with horns. The Hammond sk2 in the background was not around when Jimmy was alive. The playing sounds okay, but Jimmy put on a lot of weight.
