The concept of Grinding is a Double Edged Sword. After a couple of repairs, if your propeller has been ground hard. The same shop that ground your prop, out of the Blue says " Sorry you need a new propeller, because the blades are too thin"

Interesting. I would think there would be a balancing step at the end but if you're doing it this way and getting away with it, so will I since it's for personal use..

They also should be measuring the pitch and not just hitting it against a pitch block

What process did you use to add metal back to the prop?

This makes me not want to take my props to them, Dont try to DIY, pay us big bucks to do it.

Is this cheaper than just buying a new prop🤔 doesnt seem like it
@mDaWg07 ай бұрын
Yes, when good propellers can cost $3000 and your boat has 2 engines. This will only cost a few hundred as opposed to buying new.

I once saw a video of a prop being balanced submerged, using a timing light so it looked stationary when the light went off. what is this method and is there a video for it somewhere?

theres some good videos out there on how to bend a prop back into place which worked great for me. This video however, was not one of them.

Thanks for your feedback. The title and video was intended as a promotional piece not a “How To” video.
