If you don't mind me asking, what are your thoughts on Generative AI and Ai "art"?
@SMooresCharacters7 күн бұрын
I think that love it or hate it, it is here to stay and we will have to adapt to new ways of doing things. I understand the frustration of people who have had their work stolen without being compensated. In the near term I am trying to learn more about it so I can be better prepared for the future. I have learnt that it is very hard to predict the future so I remain optimistic.

PS: It's a big subject and so that's my attempt at an abbreviated answer. I hope that's cool ?

Just wondering what people think of the original Season 1 style, versus the Season 4 Flashback versions of Lee and Clementine?
@jjones103215 күн бұрын
Maybe it's just nostalgia, but I have a soft spot for the season 1 style. They just had more character somehow. I notice that the eyes are bigger in the game version. How did that come about? Was that modeled in later, or added by blendshapes (or something) after the fact?
@SMooresCharacters15 күн бұрын
@@jjones1032 Cheers! Yea, something I didn't mention in the video: I made adjustments to the meshes in the final. Lee's jaw got more squared off, Lee pointy and unregards to the eyes I think the textures help to enhance them.

Have you tried fibershop, how does this tool compare to it?
@SMooresCharactersАй бұрын
Yes, I have tried fiber mesh. Hair Designer is faster and easier. I don't claim to be an expert with Fiber mesh but I find it labor intensive.
@SMooresCharactersАй бұрын
PS: I think, if I was do photorealistic pre rendered stuff I might use Fiber mesh for the foreground hair and cards for the stuff that is in the background. My Friend Andrew Chen does some nice photo real stuff and that is his approach.

I can honestly say no, I never thought I'd be creating costumes like a tailor. The world of computer graphics is full of surprises. 😁

I thought you were making something with season 1-2 art style
@SMooresCharacters3 ай бұрын
Hi Azizibrahem, yes it is intended to be a video on the Season 1 and 2 art style. Admittedly I did use a season 3 asset for the sculpt but the focus was texturing. I hope that's OK.

@@SMooresCharacters Thanks for the effort man , I'm actually in Love with this art style, i made some models using a similar method, using watercolor, black lines, and such , you know , for some fanarts n fan made animations
@azizibrahem273 ай бұрын
@@SMooresCharacters i wanna ask ya something, will this apply for humans and props? I know it's the same method, but i reckon if that doesn't bother you , you could do some textures with props n s1+2+ michonne human , I really appreciate your effort and love your work
@SMooresCharacters3 ай бұрын
Oh Sweet! I'd love to see.
@SMooresCharacters3 ай бұрын
@@azizibrahem27 Actually no, props fell under environments, and the Environment team took a different approach because they have more assets to create so they tend to keep things simple. For Walking Dead season 1 and 2 I don't think they used normal maps, instead they hand painted diffuse maps and used a library of alpha brushes to help create the sketchy line art.

Hi Mr. Moore. I'm really grateful for the information and experience you share on this platform. Thank you so much! I noticed you were grooming thei hair on the character already posed. Did you actually suggest to do that when it comes to make a character in a pose?
@SMooresCharacters5 ай бұрын
Hi Vincenzo, it is true I was grooming the hair on a posed model. The catch is, I kept the head straight and actually twisted the torso instead, so it was easier to work on the face.

I have high hopes for genAI in the future, but right now it's an exploitative nightmare. I feel like most current models are stealing the creative labor from certain people, and selling to others - all without consent, credit, or compensation. Worse, it's being sold as a replace to those people it stole from. Until this gets fixed, I can't bring myself to want to use it.
@SMooresCharacters6 ай бұрын
Yes, I won't try to predict the future, however I do wonder if this is the beginning of the end for capitalism? I imagine some people will make a lot of money in the short term, but ultimately AI might displace the need for human labor: intellectual and physical, and so there will be no market for goods and services...I say this but every time I try to predict the future things happen that I could never have imagined.
