I think the more I've listened to this, the more I hear it as genuine, as I feel the more I've applied the instructions in it, the clearer things have become for me.

20 years old here and had this on loop since overhearing it in a quiet Manchester bar nearly a year ago. So campy and fun!! A perfect example of why this decade in music will never be topped. I remember almost spitting out my drink at "Remember you cannot get pregnant from kissing!"

"It's you...only you" has been in the dusty recesses of my mind for 40 years. I don't even remember how I was exposed to this back in the 80s, but it had to be either Radio 1990 or Night Flight, both on the USA Network!

Excellent parody of pop psychology.IMHO there are much better role models than the three shown.Elvis Presley was a hypocrite who self destructed.Jane Fonda is a traitor to the United States in Vietnam then in the war against Islamofascists.Muhammad Ali is the reason for the lack of sportsmanship in athletics today.Ali was a racist who called white people "blue eyed devils" and called for a return to segregation.

It's possibile, of course. The same it did happen to me. And I'm 62! Must be said that I was so impressed and scared by the talkin' faces/masks, as they were remainding the killer mask of the movie "Alice, sweet Alice"😱

A colleague of mine brought the LP over to Singapore in 1983 where we were working at the time. I was blown away by how catchy and funny the whole album was. I bought it when I was back in the UK a year later and still have in my 'small but essential' collection of vinyl records.

What can one say about this song that has'nt already been said? Kissing with confidence has totally stood the test of time! Imagine how ancient in 1983 a song almost 41yrs old would sound? But 41 yrs later this sounds totally modern and still cool and lightly humorous too. I guess linn drum helped a bit lol Lynns interesting use of the eventide harmonizer pitch shifting explored an alternative not previously explored sonics wise commercially, or even gender wise. It really worked! And it was positive too. I'm from the Uk and 1983 was a treasure trove of great standout tracks this being one. Over christmas 83 haircare brand (uk division) VO5 used this as the base of their ad at the time which i saw watching tv am mornings lol. 81' was the year we got proper way forward, fantastic polished electronic music from human league Dollar soft cell etc in the uk charts, but 83 was the yr pop just evolved to a upper level of consciousness i feel, and summer autumn 83' was terrific and so many new styles and electronics and more substance was all there, its like we lept 10 yrs in only 2 at that time. Heres just a tiny fraction of great songs around at the time. Jimmy the hoover, Tantalize, Malcom mcclaren, Double dutch. Freeze, iou, Ryan paris, dolce vita, Eurithmics, who's that girl? Level 42, sun goes down, Heaven 17, come live with me. David grant, stop and go , The police, every breath you take Limahl, only for love, Tracey ullman, they don't know Will powers, kissing with confidence, The human league, Fascination, The Cure, the walk, Roman holiday, don't try to stop it!! Culture club, church of the poisoned mind, Haysee fantaysee, shiny shiny, The belle stars, sign of the times, Matt fretton, dance it up!!!! And Hazell dean, Searchin' hit the clubs along with hi nrg music too. And a massive score more of brilliant music got us swayin' and thinkin' a bit more than we had before . such a colourful new exciting time to have lived, and i'm so glad it still lives on in the people lynn goldsmith's classy toon is one of the signitures of the year 1983 and indeed....Decade!! Brill stuff!

Getting ready for school one morning back in 1983 I remember seeing Lynn Goldsmith being interviewed on BBC 'Breakfast Time' about this song, she was talking about and giving a demonstration of the vocoder device she used to deepen her voice for the narrative of this track.
