@jamesdrummie830219 күн бұрын
From Denon spec, they don't quote an all channels driven power: 150 watts per channel (8 ohm, 20Hz - 20kHz,0.05% 2ch Drive) 190 watts per channel (6 ohm, 1kHz, 0.7% 2ch Drive) 190 watts per channel (6 ohm, 1kHz, 1% 1ch Drive) 210 watts per channel (6 ohm, 1kHz,10% 1ch Drive)

When you move to Trinnov, you realize how these AVRs are just toys.
@FuseAudioReviews2 ай бұрын
That is a pretty ridiculous comparison...Their pre/pro is $20k
@Fluterra2 ай бұрын
@ yes but it will outlast any AVR. You’ll be spending more buying new AVRs like this Denon than on one Altitude - which is easily upgradable. And the sound quality difference is night and day.
@SajithKaimal2 ай бұрын
@Fluterra Does not make sense. The whole AV experience landscape will change in the next 10 years, so you'll need to buy another Trinnov or Denon to keep up. Kids usually are wholeheartedly happy with toys, not tractors.

BTW, I have the A10H theater running, it sounds crazy good thru my B&Ws S3 surrounds.
@Fluterra2 ай бұрын
@ do you know how a Trinnov is designed? Obviously not. I thought the sound was great from my Denon 8500 - until I got an Altitude and realized how night and day the sound quality and surround processing was. I would say the Denon is just a toy that kind of gets you surround; but no one serious about HT would use it. Unfortunately, Trinnov is the only game in town and it’s expensive- but you will end up spending less over 10-15 years.

Hello, I regularly watch and subscribe to your KZbin channel videos. I really pay attention to new videos but I noticed on your KZbin channel that your channel videos are not getting views. There are several reasons for this. Below, I found your channel problem: 1. Video SEO is not done. 2. Videos are not released on time. 3. Video Perfect Title is used. 4. Perfect keyword research is not done. 5. Video thumbnails do not attract viewers etc. Solving these issues will give your KZbin channel better results.

I use a Universal remote that I can program to the RS-232 port. Does the 7000ES have dedicated codes for recalling the lens memory presets? I want to press a single button on the remote to recall preset 1 for 16:9 and a different button on the remote to recall preset 2 for 2.35:1 or even a different button on the remote to recall preset 3 for 2.4:1.
@jamesdrummie8302 Жыл бұрын
Yes - there are direct RS232 & IP commands for each memory position.

I can’t make my screen larger. It is as in your video…small. I only see how to adjust the focus…nothing about the size? Also tried plugging in a Roku stream stick and my Apple TV into the HDMI 1 and HDMI 2. It doesn’t work. Says message about hd or something. How do I hook sound up? There is no audio output?
@jamesdrummie8302 Жыл бұрын
These instructions are specific to the LS11000 and LS12000. (Also works with 9400 - but the menu looks different) If you are using one of these projectors you use the [Lens] button on the remote. This scrolls round - 1st press FOCUS, 2nd press ZOOM (the one you're looking for), 3rd press LENS SHIFT. You wouldn't normally plug a ROKU or Apple TV directly into a projector. You would normally plug all your input devices (Roku, Blu-ray, satellite box, etc) into an AVR, then plug the AVR into the projector. The AVR is then used for video switching and audio.

So you are not using an Anamorphic lens you are just using lens memory and essentially zooming in to get the full screen on a 2:35;1 cinascope screen ? I am considering a 2:35 drop down screen for movies.
@jamesdrummie8302 Жыл бұрын
Yes - that's it. No need for an anamorphic lens if you use this feature on the VPL-XW7000.

Wouldn't it make more sense to calibrate 1.85 for a 1.85 aspect ratio image, and save a separate calibration for 1.78 (ie 16:9) to picture position 1?
@jamesdrummie8302 Жыл бұрын
This is so that the two lens memories stay at the top. If you are doing multiple positions, then yes saving 1.85:1 on to that memory position would make sense. However, on the new XW7000, the memory positions are simply names Position 1, 2, 3. So you pic yourself which memory to use.

I'm coming from an old panasonic ptae7000 which has a similar lens memory function to an epson 9400. The panasonic had auto sensing of the stored aspect ratio and would change to 16:9 or 2.35:1 depending on what aspect ratio is being fed. Does the epson 9400 have this function, or do you have to manually select the stored aspect ratio?

I have followed your directions perfectly and they have been very helpful, thank you. My only problem is when I set the lens for 16:9 to include the blanking and save it, then set the lens for 2.35:1 to include the blanking, the blanking only saves the last memory (2.35:1). When I go back to the 16:9 memory, the blanking for the 2.35:1 is still there. Any help would be appreciated.

@jamesdrummie8302 Жыл бұрын
To get the best out of a projectors lens (and this goes for any projector), you want to stay as close to the middle of the throw range as you can. Having said that the lens on the XW7000 is very good using Sony's new Advanced Crisp Focus lens (ACF lens). Using a floating focus system and extra low dispersion glass elements. It also utilises an aspherical 70mm lens to assist with corner to corner focus, which is far superior to the spherical elements used in many other projectors.

Hi , I found your video very useful. I have a sony vpl vw325es and I had a question , If I see the dotted lines inclined such that right side of the screen shows lines and left side doesn’t, is there an adjustment I can make on the projector OR do I need to adjust the screen ?
@jamesdrummie8302 Жыл бұрын
This would indicate that the projector is not perpendicular to the screen. Make sure the projector is perfectly level to the screen and it pointing straight forward. If you slightly twist your projector until both the top an bottom are parallel (the image will go off the screen slightly). Then use the lens shift function to get the image back on the screen.

Hi is this good for day light viewing ? Bright enough? Lastly is memc tech better than motion 60 mhz ? Thanks.
@jamesdrummie8302 Жыл бұрын
In day light viewing you'll need to use an ultra-short throw ambient light rejecting screen (ALR). This works well. However, in daylight on a white screen or wall this will not be as good. You might be better off looking at the Hisense L9 that comes with an ALR screen, either in 100" or 120". Or a large LED TV might be better if you have lots of light coming in. As for motion, it's pretty good - Something you'll have to see in person to decide for yourself.

Can I do 2.35:1 manually on sony vpl-xw5000
@jamesdrummie83022 жыл бұрын
You can manually zoom focus and shift the 5000. BUT, there's no way of storing the position, so you will have to go up to your projector and use the manual adjustments every time you want to change aspect ratios. So, possible yes... is it practical? No

What is your screen sizes in 2.35:1 and more questions kindly how you will watch movie in 2.4:1 ratio or not matter few cm
@jamesdrummie83022 жыл бұрын
@@alameri40 The screen aspect ratio is down to the screen manufacturer we use. The screen in the video is 4m wide. Probably too big for the XW5000 as it is not as bright as the 7000. The maximum I'd go for the 5000 is about 3m wide (screen gain 1.0). If the content is 2.4:1 then on a 2.35:1 screen you will either have tiny bars top and bottom - OR, you can over scan slightly and crop the sides of the image to completely fill the screen. As most scope movies are 2.4:1 on home release (either blu-ray or streaming services) I would opt for a 2.4:1 screen if you can. Do you already have the screen? If you already have a VPL-XW5000 it's better to go for a 16:9 screen so you don't have to change the focus zoom and shift every time you watch different aspect ratio content. Do you already have the projector?
@scotttild Жыл бұрын
@@alameri40 There are multiple setting I would assume you can just change it again to a 2:4:1 ratio with the same process and save that setting as number 3. So you can have one setting for 16:9 one for 2:35:1 and a third setting for 2:4:1 which is why lens memory is important. A little pissed Sony left it off the entry level model.

Why does it look like it 2.35:1 it cuts off the picture of the air ballon. Does it not allow the full picture as it was intended in that mode? Was it because the picture was a native 16:9?
@brettritchie40142 жыл бұрын
Yes mate, the picture is cut off at the top and bottom because it's a 16:9 aspect ratio image that is being projected onto a wider aspect ratio screen .. Only a (lets call it a panoramic) 2.35:1 image can show the entire picture on a 2.35:1 cinemascope screen. I you wanted to completely fill the screen with the air ballon image (without cutting any off), you would have to project it onto a 16.9 ratio screen

Though I’m a bit bummed about the No-3D - I’ve literally watched 1 3D movie in the last 5 years on my benq 2050 - the 3D content has been getting thing as of late - and likely the 3D gets in the way of the projector really shining (perhaps literally!) I don’t think the faux k thing is such a big deal - almost every review I’ve read says there isn’t any discernible difference in detail between a native and pixel shifted 4K image - unless you get up really close I suppose - I think I can live with that - the lumen output, hdmi 2.1, the inky blacks at the $5000 price point is just silliness - I’m sold!
