Just for info; sometime near 2019 Bobcat changed the "problematic" check ball pick up tube design and switched to a "primer bulb with Check ball in "it.

Hello, "What's Broke Today?" I was analyzing your channel and saw that in your channel have some problem, That's why your channnel is not much growing and not getting much engagement, If you can solve these problems, Your channel will grow like a storm. If you tell I can tell these problems. Where can I tell? Here or email?

My truck has aftermarket AC but factory heat. I gotta replace the heater core. You see any reason I need to put the ac evaporator back in. I only need defrost to work.
@whatsbroketoday
@whatsbroketoday 6 күн бұрын
I see no need to put the evaporator back in. With an aftermarket A/C I don't think it will make any difference on defrost. With Factory A/C all the air flows thru the evaporator and only bypasses the heater core when temp is in the cold setting. Nice part for you is a heater core change for you should be easier than a factory A/C truck. Thanks

How many hours on it ?? Just guessing between 200/300 hours 😢. It’s what I’m seeing in the shop 😮

I'll have to put a battery in to be sure but seems like I was around 600 hours. I used it in the fall to pick up leaves. The cub did a better job than my craftsman does. I got 2 craftsman riders. A 42" lawn & a 50" garden both are about 25 years old and run great. Thanks

If you’re using the mower to make money it’s best to have a older VS system like a older craftsman 42inch , these trans don’t last very long or one season of steady service 😢😢😢

Not much chance it will fix it but really I try first and if not I replace trans 😊 Don’t loan anything period 😮

My schematic doesn't show a gasket for my cv20s. Can I use the gasket or do I need to use rtv?
@whatsbroketoday
@whatsbroketoday 11 күн бұрын
In most cases you can use a gasket where rtv was used originally. The concern come in crankshaft end play. A gasket can add up to .020 of end play. For a vertical crankshaft engine I do not feel that is a major issue but researching the recommended end play about and measuring before you disassemble would be a good idea. Thanks.
@whatsbroketoday
@whatsbroketoday 11 күн бұрын
Another FYI when using RTV use a high quality ultra grey or black. A little extra money now will save doing the job again.

I love the content,I have an 8n myself and if not for channels like yours to refresh my memories I would pull my hair out. I have went through gear set change in the transmission,carberator,alternator,wiring changed out front spindle assembly. You know maintenance stuff that previous owners should have but never did.

I would put the mower up on blocks(under tires) look at mounting points on transmissions for missing bolts or broken mounting points that could cause the belt alignment to be off. Start the mower and watch the belt as it goes around the pulleys and look for anything that the belt could possibly be rubbing on like clamps on the hoses on top of trans. Maybe even an idler pulley that could be locking up if the wear is on the wide side of the belt. Be sure to have brake set and block front wheels for safety. Hope this helps. Thanks

My belt is getting chewed up real bad. I've replied it twice and it's still happening. The hydro pulleys were rusted and I cleaned them the best I could. What could be causing this?

Now order a bolt on cutting edge. Just drill thru the garbage original. Then the bucket won’t bend.

Thank you for your video. I changed my drive belt today, it was a real CHORE. Your video gave me the confidence to tackle it myself. Your machine must be a little older than mine, as there were small differences . I found things that should have been easy to be difficult, and things that I feared to be easier than expected. Thank you again. You saved me a lot of money and considerable aggrivation.

Hey, tractor man, I don't know your name, so excuse my name-calling. I have the same problem with my 8n. It runs, I parked for a little while, and It won't start up. Someone restored it and sold it to me. Your video was informative, but it is a lot to decipher. The tractor has some new parts and original parts, but I don't know where to begin. It sounds like it's not getting gas or something. I will check the gas line and spark plugs, but the carb and distributor seem complex 🤔. Any suggestions suggestions could help
@stilltuckered
@stilltuckered 19 күн бұрын
The distributor looks but isn’t scary. The carb has a lot if places that can cause problems. Never get a Chinese carb for these because they just don’t work well. It’s better to clean and get a carb kit to replace stuff that’s not working right. It’s easy to buy one and slap it on, but it’s not going to really going to help you in the long run. It’s better to rebuild the original.

Run into something close to this mess. Figure the crankshaft has damage. Put a new crankshaft in mine or swap the engine. That is my issue. I figure make it better or replace it. It being the mower.
