None of these watches has the proper case undercut on either side of the crown. But Heimdallr does have the proper undercut. Proper neaing similar to that of the Seiko Willard.

Time is $$$$! I wanted a few display box's for my watches and pocket knives. I have a woodworker friend that I knew could make them, but I decided to see what was available on Amazon before mentioning the project to my friend. Long story short Amazon had felt lined, hinged lids with tempered glass see through lids with brass hinges and latches in various finishes for $19.00. needless to say I never even mentioned to project to my friend as the materials would have cost 10x more let alone his time. Sure these are Chinese and not custom, but they display the watches as knives perfectly. Keep up the good work, always enjoy your shows. Am anxious to see your Arizona move as we're thinking of moving there too. Ca. Is getting way to crazy with over regulations and tax's etc.

Yeah, what I'm best at isn't what most are willing to pay for - I get those jobs but it's not steady, that's why you see me doing all the crazy stuff I do. Nothing wrong with saving money - I suggest you look for vintage stuff and be creative - I store the bulk of my watch collection in a vintage metal tool box. You can "upcycle" and be thrifty but also add some whimsy into your life.

I'm just bustin balls dude. I obviously am not experienced with wood working which is why I asked about the sawdust putty thing I learned in 7th grade woodshop. Also my comment was a compliment because it is such fine craftmanship that the black screw holes take away from it. Anyway, are you gonna do a vid on finishing off the plugs?

Have these commenters figured out their criticism may well be addressed in a following video? Maybe they are a bit slow or haters gonna hate.😈 I like that you show how you do a project and hell I might actually learn something new!
@AstroVanTribe18 сағат бұрын
Not all the comments are from "haters" - I think most mean well and just want me to know they know something which is normal. There's one fool in these comments I just responded to with a couple links of videos showcasing some of my furniture - Think is, NOW I'm motivated to do a video where I show off some of my old work from my Mike Z Design FB page. It'll be a low tech video but it'll get the point across. I never said I was the best at this, I'm humbled all the time....

I worked in a display shop that dealt mainly with oak veneers. We would purchase the oak plugs in bulk. We would glue them in place, let dry and use a vibrating sander.

Mikey, why did you choose to use a dissimilar wood like walnut which is much darker rather than cutting plugs from a much more neutral wood? They would have been almost invisible. Just curious. Mr Expert #7😊
@calfolk738117 сағат бұрын
The walnut scrap he had is harder wood so it’s easier to make a plug without them breaking. Also, he said sometimes using a lighter or darker shade plug makes them pop when stained.
